As it was clear the Russian invasion of Ukraine would lead to an energy shortage, like all things, it was labelled a crisis. Was it really a crisis though? Well it could have been - now it appears energy supplies are 'good enough' to get through what would have otherwise been a winter from hell.

Is this an example of how the media can lead us down the wrong path around items to worry about? Possibly. Are European's safe now? No necessarily - there's still next winter to think about.

Active investors need to watch this, passive investors - not so much. What's the lesson here? Don't worry on items you cannot control.
