One of our amazing Everyday Ultra Coaches, Christie Brinker, just finished the Leadville 100M as her first 100M!
Leadville is a tough course; with most of the race being above 10,000 feet of elevation, having over 15,000 feet of climbing, and having unforgiving cutoffs, it is a beast to tackle for a first 100M.
But Christie trained hard for it, executed her plan well, and overcame all of the mental obstacles to get it done.
And one of the most impressive parts? She did it all while training at sea level with no access to mountains in Illinois.
In this episode, Christie shares all about her training block and what helped her to prepare best for Leadville, her approach to racing Leadville and the play-by-play of her execution, and how she overcame unexpected challenges to get the belt buckle.
Huge thank you for Christie for coming on the show!
