This idea of being a good enough artist to actually start to market and run this thing like a business holds us all back. And I get it- I have been stuck in this loop where I am just focused on how much "better" everyone else is in the family photography industry.

There are so many photographers are subjectively better at the art of photography than I am. They are more creative. They understand their gear more. But that honestly doesn't matter. Tune in to find out why "goodness" matters so much less than you think.

If you are at a place where you have a consistent body of work and you have at least a simple marketing plan, you need to make sure that one of the pillars of that marketing plan is educating potential clients. 

First, you need a solid education foundation and often it is built around the wrong theme. The correct theme is “what is my potential client worried about/strugling with/preventing from getting on the calendar”.  Not about you as a photographer.
