Today we welcome Brian Beckstead, the Co-Founder and Head of Strategy/PR of Altra Running, a shoe company that creates zero-drop footwear with a natural foot-shape design. Altra Footwear was launched in 2009 by Brian and Golden Harper, partnering with Pulse Labs, an engineering firm at Brigham Young University. They chose the name "Altra" based on the Latin word "altera", which means "to fix or mend something that is broken." From their humble origins cutting up existing shoes and re-soling them in a toaster oven, Altra is now sold all over the U.S. and in 55 countries around the world.
