Lt: Sniegas girioje buvo toks baltas, kad akys apsalo.
En: The snow in the forest was so white it dazzled the eyes.
Lt: Didelės pušys, lyg sargybiniai, saugojo mažą aikštelę, kurioje vakarop susirinko trys broliai ir seserys.
En: Large pine trees, like sentinels, guarded a small clearing where, by evening, three brothers and sisters gathered.
Lt: Deglas obuolių kvapo gėlėjo šaltą vėją.
En: A torch with the scent of apples sweetened the cold wind.
Lt: Tai buvo Rūta, Mantas ir Eglė – grįžę į savo protėvių namus Aukštaitijoje, švęsti Užgavėnių.
En: It was Rūta, Mantas, and Eglė—returned to their ancestral home in Aukštaitija to celebrate Užgavėnės.
