Lastly, the only way not to fail is to not even set a goal. But its also a sure fire way to NEVER achieve your full potential.
Eliminate the fear of failure. Even in failing there is growth.

Athletes are in way more activities now than ever before. Hence our job as coaches now becomes understanding how these affect their training.
No more noticeable than change of direction work. We have started changing how we view and utilize COD in our sessions. There is no reason why COD should be different than linear speed development.
We use a lot of 1-2 step movements and force absorbing movements. Then add 2-4 max effort attempts.
You have to evolve as a coach as athletics evolve if you want to get results.

DO MORE! That's the message- if you want to be great you have to strive to do more than just what everyone else is doing.
What's expected is expected- Mediocre people have trouble just doing what's expected- High Achievers know that's the floor.
High achievers also understand that doing what is required needs to happen regardless of how you feel. Standards OVER feelings!
High achievers don't need to tell you they are a high achievers. But somehow mediocre people want to downgrade those people while telling others where they are at. WALK THE TALK!

Athlete combines and showcases are becoming more and more prevalent. They are not going away so we as coaches and leaders need to find ways to give kids the chance to dominate. Before we go into the tips, make sure to remember to put your play on film. IE- Be your best when your best is required. But here are three more tips to really help kids have success in their combines this summer.
1 Be prepared- don't just show-up- Have someone who has done these preps before. make sure to know the footwear and drills to maximize success.
2 Rested- Fresh- Healthy- You have to be at your best to get your best numbers. More is not better here- quality is 🔑
3 Don't stop your normal activities OR NORMAL TRAINING. Your main thing is still your upcoming or current season. Keep prepping for your seasons.
