Recipe: 1/2 cup of white granulated sugar
3/4 cup of softened butter
beat the butter and sugar together until creamy.
Add in:
1 egg
1 ¼ cups of molasses-and beat another minute or two.
In a separate bowl mix the below ingredients together until incorporated.
4 cups of pastry or all-purpose flour
¾ cup of hot water
1 ½ tsp of baking soda
1 tsp of cinnamon
1 tsp of ginger
1/2 tsp of cloves
1/2 tsp of salt
