This week, Caroline is joined on the podcast by Dr. Caroline Munyi from Akidwa.ie. Dr. Munyi works to end the practice of FGM, which occurs in 29 countries across the world, with approximately 6000 women and girls affected in Ireland. She explains the reasons behind FGM, and how there are four different types of FGM. Education is a key part of the battle against FGM, and Dr. Munyi explains the type of work she does in Ireland and in communities that practice FGM.
