Gluten Free Watchdog shared a concerning label on a product:

7th Heaven White & Cookies Bar: This cookie is not gluten-free. It contains wheat. However, there is a stand-alone gluten-free claim that refers to the oats in the product. Listen for more.

The label for this product is a reminder to always read the ingredients list even when you see what looks like a gluten-free claim. And please follow Gluten Free Watchdog to stay in the know!

In the wake of the devastation wrought by Hurricane Helene and as Hurricane Milton threatens Florida, our celiac community is coming together to support the victims of these natural disasters who are also living with celiac disease. 

Please join us in making a donation in order to provide safe gluten-free food to these communities. We have identified two wonderful nonprofit organizations who are making it part of their mission to feed those with celiac who have been through these terrible hurricanes. 

FOODiversity is a North Carolina nonprofit accepting donations in order to provide gluten-free and allergy-safe food to those affected by Helene. 

The National Celiac Association is a national organization that is fundraising to support people who need gluten-free food in regions impacted by natural disasters.

The National Celiac Association has come to the aid of the gluten free community affected by Hurricane Helene. Hurricane Helene’s massive destruction across the Southeast has left hundreds of thousands of people relying on food distribution and other emergency services.

Members of the celiac and gluten free community are especially vulnerable during times of crisis. That’s why our Feeding Gluten Free program is here.

They were able to identify Hunger & Health Coalition, Inc. - a food pantry that works with RDs in Boone, NC. We confirmed that there are passable roads in for delivery, and through our Feeding Gluten Free program we were able to purchase lots of gluten free foods for their patrons! We are grateful to be able to help in times when we are needed most.
