On this week's episode of the Gridiron Gals podcast, Chels is Reeta and Reeta is Chels! So let's go
NFL Playoff math season is here, which means the NFL has officially turned into a giant word problem nobody asked for. We're sorting through percentages, tiebreakers, and "if this team sneezes on Thursday, the other team clinches on Sunday" scenarios to figure out which NFC and AFC outliers actually have a shot at sneaking into the postseason. Plus, should franchise players really come back from injury when the only thing their team is playing for is pride and draft order? Week 14 picks are locked in, the Tubi Game of the Week promises chaos, and over in college football it's Championship Week, aka the biggest day of the season. Georgia and Alabama are basically in no matter what, Texas Tech is playing with house money, Indiana and Ohio State are battling purely for vibes, and Duke vs. Virginia has the entire ACC holding its breath while 11–1 JMU prays for chaos. Next week? We finally get to argue about the actual playoff picture. Buckle up.
This week, the Gridiron Gals celebrate the annual migration of backup quarterbacks to starting roles: Jameis Winston leads the charge in New York, Shedeur Sanders takes over for Dillon Gabriel, Kirk Cousins returns to Atlanta while Michael Penix's ACL files for early retirement, Tyrod Taylor replaces Justin Fields, and Joe "Bureauxs" is back—though possibly fashionably late. Meanwhile, the AFC West is giving us multiverse energy: the Broncos are somehow four games ahead of the Chiefs, and we may be entering the first era where Patrick Mahomes does not win the division—unless Kansas City is just setting us up for chaos. Week 13 Tubi Games of the Week include Browns vs. Raiders and Seahawks vs. Titans, a true toss-up for anyone who loves unpredictable football. In college news, James Franklin heads to Virginia Tech, Lane Kiffin's Ole Miss window is sliding shut, and LSU and Florida are both courting him while Ole Miss mounts a dramatic fourth-quarter plea to keep him. Tune in for the laughs, the takes, and the Volcano!
It's spooky season in the NFL, and we're handing out **Halloween Superlatives. From "Most Likely to Haunt Their Former Team" to "Scariest Defense Alive," and of course, the **Michael Myers Award**—a player you *do not* want to see coming. We've also got our **Zombie Comeback Player**, the **Haunted Locker Room Award** for teams cursed by bad luck, and the squad "Most Likely to Turn into a Pumpkin at Midnight." Plus, Week 10 picks and the always-chaotic Tubi Game of the Week! Over in college football, it's a full-on fright fest—Brian Kelly is *out* at LSU (so is that job a trick or a treat?), the **Curse of College Gameday** strikes again, another ranked team got tricked by an underdog, and one rivalry game turned straight into a horror movie. Grab your candy and your playbook—this episode's full of chills, laughs, and football mayhem.
Russell Wilson had time this week—enough to cook up a Twitter clapback for Sean Payton! Meanwhile, the Giants' defense apparently thought "air it out" meant "let Denver score 33 in the 4th quarter," Quietly—but not that quietly—the Colts are sitting pretty at 6-1 and might actually be for real. Week 8 picks are in and so is the Tubi Games of the Week! Over in college football, Billy Napier got booted after an ugly win, James Franklin is interviewing for this next job by coming on Gameday Desk with Saban's blessing, Ty $impson is leading the Heisman chatter, and Reeta deserves an apology from that Florida State fan because… yeah, they haven't won since. Grab your snacks and your head phones and clock in with the Gridiron Gals this week!
Trevor Lawrence and the Jags served the Chiefs an L wrapped in pure comedy and chaos; Joe Flacco is a Bengal now (yes, really), the Patriots stunted on the Bills, and we're also making Week 6 picks, the Tubi Game of the Week, and college football — from clearing Kyren Lacy's name to exposing Arch Manning as mid-tier at best. Plus, Ty$ is HIM, and Belichick's UNC era might be clocking out. Grab your popcorn; it's messy ! Subscribe, rate, and leave us a comment!
Green Bay and Dallas decided winning is overrated and ended in a tie—which is honestly the most Cowboys way to Cowboys. Do we need Sudden Death Overtime back, or do we just enjoy the chaos? Jaxon Dart and the Giants pulled a shocker against the Chargers, the Ravens might officially be cursed (somebody check for chicken bones on the field), and Bad Bunny's Super Bowl halftime announcement has the internet split between salsa dancing and rage tweeting. We've got Week 5 picks, a Tubi game of the week, Alabama vs. Georgia, Oregon vs. Penn State, and Ole Miss vs. LSU all delivered fireworks. Looking ahead to Week 6, plus—wait for it—Paul Finebaum might be running for Senate? You don't want to miss another hilarious episode of the Gridiron Gals podcast!
The rapture came and went, and Reeta and Chels are left behind paying bills and figuring out what is for dinner! And on this episode of the Gridiron Gals podcast, the Falcons forgot how to score), Russell Wilson finally hit the bench for Jaxon Dart (Chels may have actually nailed this one), and the injury bug feasted like it was Thanksgiving..yikes. Reeta and Chels discuss which team broke their fans' hearts the hardest, which one shocked the world, and then veer straight into coaching drama—Mike Gundy's mullet era ends at Oklahoma State, Dabo might be next, and Florida's soap opera could eat either Napier or Lagway first. Oh, and the weekend slate is loaded: Georgia-Bama, LSU-Ole Miss, Oregon-Penn State. The volcano is being fed once again so tune in to find out who goes in
This week's episode of the Gridiron Gal's Podcast has it all, including NEW THEME MUSIC! —Micah Parsons shipped off to Green Bay (Chels admits she was WRONG, alert the media), the Cowboys losing to the Eagles but somehow looking good while doing it, and Jalen Carter spitting on Dak Prescott like we're back in middle school. Meanwhile in Baltimore, the Ravens handed the Bills a comeback win after leading comfortably, leaving us to ask why teams keep forgetting how to close out games. We also hand out Week One superlatives—Bills to the Super Bowl? Lions back to being losers? Tua already finished?—before Reeta fires off her Week Two picks and we crown the Patriots-Dolphins the Tubi Game of the Week. College football wasn't much better, but Michigan and Oklahoma gave us something, Florida fell apart against USF, and yes, there was another spitting incident. Join us for all the chaos, one-liners, and hot takes and volcano victims!
Stick around to the end to listen to our new theme song in its entirety !
