Our child’s resistance to cooperate or push back against our wishes can be alarming. However, it is possible to actually welcome the resistance instead of desperately trying to control it. In this episode, we collaborate with Hannah and Kelty, cohosts of the parenting podcast Upbringing and explore the concept of resistance and how we as parents can respectfully and emphatically create and hold boundaries while still honoring our childrens resistance.

Hannah and Kelty are certified coaches in Simplicity Parenting, Positive Discipline and trained in the respectful parenting approach, RIE. They have an abundance of parenting knowledge and they share with us their wonderful parenting tips which include their Freedom Model, and the RESIST technique to help you know exactly what to do as you come up against your childrens’ resistance. We talk about leaning into our child’s resistance as we work to recognize our triggers and grow up beside them!
