Your doctor says you have Hashimoto’s, but your TSH is “fine.” So what now?
If you left with a follow-up appointment 12 months away, or a “we’ll keep an eye on it,” you’re not alone. A normal TSH only tells part of the story. Hashimoto’s is two things: a thyroid that can’t keep up and an immune system that’s attacking it. TSH shows the first. It doesn’t show the second.
In episode 224, Esther explains the treatment for Hashimoto’s with normal TSH, and why you don’t have to wait for your labs to change before you start supporting your body.
In this episode, you’ll learn:

You switched your deodorant and felt no different. So did the swap even matter?
Environmental toxins are one of the top eight Hashimoto's triggers, so lowering your exposure is one place to start on the immune side.
In episode 223, Esther talks with Amy Enos, the low tox pharmacist, about personal care product swaps you can make without replacing everything in your house.
In this episode, you’ll learn where to start when it all feels like too much.

T2 thyroid hormone is being promoted for weight loss, metabolism, and energy. But does the science support the claims? And is T2 something women with Hashimoto's should consider?
You've heard of T4 and T3. Maybe even reverse T3. But T2?
After seeing two ads promoting T2 supplements, I started digging into the research.
In this episode, I'm talking about what T2 actually does, what the research says, and how to evaluate T2 creams and pills before spending your money.
Because you're the CEO of your own health. You need more than an exciting sales pitch to make a good decision.

Is this the winter you finally stay well?
Cold, flu, and COVID season is here, and the news is already full of rumors, including talk of a Russian plague. No one knows what's coming, but every winter brings sniffles, GI bugs, and lost days. If you have Hashimoto's, staying well matters even more, because infections of any kind can be one of the triggers for your immune system.
Winter wellness with Hashimoto's does not have to be complicated. This episode is a replay of Esther's free Winter Wellness masterclass. It gives you three simple layers to stack, so sick season is not for you.

Do you feel worse every fall and can't figure out why? It may be the "October slide."
The October slide is not a diagnosis, but it's common enough in autoimmune groups to have a name. If you feel worse every fall, you're not imagining it, and you get to look at why.
In episode 220, Esther recaps episode 120 and goes back through the research on seasons and autoimmune conditions.
In this episode, you'll learn:

You grind your teeth at night. You bloat after a glass of water. You crave sugar and salt, you are wide awake at 2am, and your labs still come back fine.
What if some of that is not your thyroid?
Hashimoto's is two things and not one. Medication helps the thyroid side. The immune side is the part that is yours to work on, and part of that work is looking at what else your body is carrying.
In episode 219, Kim Rogers (the Worm Queen) teaches you all about parasites and Hashimoto's. If you’re curious but nervous (or grossed out,) this episode breaks down symptoms to watch for, how the kit works, and easy steps to get started.

Practices to drive to. A full workday. A to-do list that keeps growing. When your week fills up, are your healthy habits the first thing to go?
"I'll start that when things calm down." But a busy week doesn't pause the stress on your body. It adds to the load. Your thyroid and your immune system still need daily, consistent action, even when your plate is full.
You don't need a whole life overhaul. In episode 218, you'll find out how to manage Hashimoto's when life is busy, so your habits keep going in your hardest weeks.
In this episode, you'll learn:

Someone asks how you are doing. You say fine. You both move on.
Fine is not an emotion. And most of the time, it is not the truth either.
This bonus episode is a little different. Instead of a book review, I am sharing a sermon from my church, because this message applies to everyone. It is the full meaning of "how are you doing?"
Pastor Jason Lang walks through the five questions hiding inside that one simple question. If you have gotten good at saying fine while you are running on empty, this one is worth your time.
How are you doing? (five questions in one)

You finished the list. You sorted everything into thyroid or immune. And somehow that made it worse, because now you are looking at two full buckets and every single thing in them looks like it should be the thing you do today.
So you did nothing. Or you picked five things, went hard, and lasted about eleven days.
That is not a discipline problem.
Sorting is triage, not treatment. It tells you what to work on first. But nobody ever explains the "first" part, and that gap is where most women get stuck. In this episode I walk through the three rules I use to decide what actually comes next, why the most important thing is almost never the right place to start, and what six winters of working on one single trigger taught me about doing less at a time.

How serious is Hashimoto's disease? Nobody answered that at your appointment.
You got a prescription and a follow-up in six weeks. Or you got told your numbers are fine for now and we are just going to keep an eye on things. Either way, you walked out not knowing whether to brush this off or worry about it every day.
The answer sits in between those two. Hashimoto's is two things and not one. It is a thyroid that cannot keep up, and it is an immune system attacking that thyroid. Medication can help handle the first one. The second one is all yours to work on.
In episode 216, Esther gives you the facts without the fear, including what she reads in her own thyroid books about what happens when hypothyroidism goes unwatched, and why she gets most serious about this with women who are pregnant or trying to be.
In this episode, you'll learn:

Thyroid or immune. Finally sorted.
Your doctor gave you a pill for your thyroid. Nobody gave you a plan for your immune system. Those are two different problems, and only one of them got addressed.
The Health with Hashimoto's podcast teaches you to sort everything you know about Hashimoto's into one of two buckets: thyroid function or immune function. That's the shift. Not more information. A way to use what you've already got.
If you've read the books, followed the accounts, and still don't know what to do Monday morning, you don't have an information problem. You have a sorting problem.
Hosted by Esther Yunkin, a registered nurse with 25 years of experience, this podcast covers what Hashimoto's actually is, why it happens, and how to work with your doctor (not against them) while you build a plan that fits a real life.
