They say renew with sleep, and the whole body is renewed. But what parts of the body really rest? The heart, lungs and all the vital organs function that relates to life never rest in sleep. Digestion and assimilation are always ongoing. Also, our subconscious mind is never at rest it is always listening and putting thoughts into action.
But our healing, the healing process as a whole, do take place more rapidly while we are asleep as there is no interference from our conscious mind.
I’m Donna Williams, owner and creator of info-on-high-blood-pressure.com, am a certified holistic health coach with a love of my community of women of color. Within my community I bring awareness of alternative restorative therapeutic programs that helps us all embrace mini steps that encourages and reinforce healthy living, awakens us to the powerful and natural healings within our bodies and how we can bring it to life to reap its many benefits.
Today’s Topic Is – The Mysteries Of Sleep!
If you've struggled with putting a good night's rest on the back burner, let this be the year you take a step toward better sleep. Think of your sleep hygiene as a series of sleep habits. These habits can drastically improve your ability not only to fall asleep but to stay asleep.
Our conscious mind is involved in all the turmoil of daily living and it becomes necessary to have a withdrawal period so that our natural bodily functions can commune in silence with the inner workings of our mind - our subconscious mind.
So whether you have chronic insomnia or just poor self-control when it comes to prioritizing rest over that last Netflix episode, these tips can help set you on the right path. If implementing the entire list feels overwhelming, begin with a few new habits and build from there.
Lets start with getting you ready for going to bed. What about having a nightcap mocktail. It’s a drink that doesn’t include any form of alcohol. Whether you’re having them warm and/or cold, don't include any alcohol and may be just what you need in making you feel like you’re having a drink. And the best part is they will not spike your blood pressure numbers and even help you to sleep better.

Hello, you’re listening to High Blood Pressure Wellness Lifestyle Podcast with Donna Williams. Have you ever thought about intuitive eating and how it may affect your blood pressure? Intuitive eating is an approach to food that strongly emphasizes listening to your body. At its core, intuitive eating involves letting your innate hunger and satiety cues guide your food choices rather than strictly sticking to a restrictive diet regimen.
Hi, I’m Donna Williams, owner and creator of infoonhbp.com, am a certified holistic health coach with a love of my community. Today’s Topic Is - An Introduction To Intuitive Eating That Leads To High Blood Pressure Reduction!
Aaaagh the love of food, colorful, delicious food, tastefully presented will never go away, at least for me. But incorporating small changes into our daily eating routine do translate into healthier weight for the body.
We all say and do this … when someone is sick, eat and you’ll get better. But you ever notice that when someone is truly sick, they have no appetite? Loss of appetite nearly always happens in severe sickness.
Mother Nature is and should always be our guide. The body naturally needs all her power for the work in restoring normal conditions and there is none to spare for the labor of digestion. Mother Nature is saying eat light when there is little, or no exercise being done.
Intuitive eating is almost like Mother Nature in its approach to food. It strongly emphasizes listening to your body. At its core, intuitive eating involves letting your innate hunger and satiety cues guide your food choices rather than strictly sticking to a restrictive diet regimen.
By tuning in to what your body craves and paying attention to how you feel after consuming different foods, you can clearly understand what nutrients your body needs to stay healthy, energetic, and well-nourished.
Love of food can put you at cardiov

Hello, you’re listening to High Blood Pressure Wellness Lifestyle with Donna Williams. Could you be addicted to sugar? I also have a sweet tooth, but I try to consume sugar from a healthy source eight times out of ten. This isn’t about you never having sugar.
Having a sweet tooth makes you feel happy giving your body a sense of euphoria. And as such, with any additive like tendency the more you get the more you want.
The good news is you have the power to rehabilitate your taste buds.
Today’s episode is on Sugar’s impact on your blood pressure.
High blood pressure kills people in the millions worldwide every year. It kills so many people because it contributes to these deaths from a variety of causes including heart attacks, kidney failure and stroke to name a few.
The American Heart Association defines normal blood pressure as 120/80. Anything above 140/90 is considered hypertensive. Values in between are considered prehypertensive.
Increased blood pressure puts a strain on the heart, can damage the sensitive blood vessels in your eyes, your kidneys, cause bleeding in the brain and even lead arteries to balloon and rupture.
The fact that high blood pressure can damage so many organ systems explain why it is the number one killer, so states the Lancet, one of the world’s leading medical journals, that’s funded by The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, The Global Burden of Disease Study that involved nearly 500 researchers from more than 300 institutions in fifty countries.
I’m sure you have also heard the saying as we age blood pressure tends to get higher and higher. It is said after age 60 you can expect to be diagnosed with high blood pressure and it is inevitable…it is a consequence of getting older. But this doesn’t have to be true. It all depends on your diet.
There was a time in the 1940s when high blood pressure pills were not available, they were not invented as yet. And Dr. Walter Kempner brought his patients with malignant hypertension with levels of 240/150 down to 105/80 with his dietary changes alone that was a rice and fruit diet. Back then this type of malignant hypertension was a death sentence with a life expectancy of only 6 months. Dr.

Hello, when we don’t share our family medical history or talk about the diseases that runs in our families, that treatable or preventable health issue kills our loved ones early in life. It affects our children, our grandchildren and our future. It is important that all family members learn early of their genetic risk to chronic and/or hereditary diseases, identify patterns, that will have them starting early preventative measures that help you and/or your family members from going through financial hardship or an un-necessary life of suffering.
Because having A Family Medical History is a Proven Lifesaver!
I’m Donna Williams, owner and creator of infoonhbp.com, am a certified holistic health coach who uses a holistic and integrative approach to both diet and lifestyle changes to improve my clients' health. Work primarily with women of color, adults like yourself, who are seeking radical improvement to their cardiovascular health, to their energy level, and weight management maintenance.
Today’s HBP Wellness Lifestyle Podcast with Donna Williams episode is about Family secrets that kills family members – Your Family’s Medical History.
It is how not sharing your family’s medical history and diseases, which you can easily do by making it part of a specific family gathering, can actually lead to you or a loved one not dying young from either a treatable or preventable lifestyle illness.
I am from the island of Jamaica and having a family medical history or even creating one, was never talked about when I was growing up. When a family member was ill, especially if it was cancer – like it was contagious - there were whispers, no one asked questions, but you felt the fear within everyone around you. It was palpable.
My Father had an ailment commonly known as ‘STOPPAGE of water’ erroneously associated with prostate cancer, but what was actually urinary retention, but due to the type of medica

Hello everyone, I am a black woman and as such I am also part of the huge community of women of color and each of us need to devote more energy and love to working with our Latina, Native American, and Asian-American sisters. For we cannot move forward or achieve social sanity and health if we hold on to any form of racist stereotypes about other women and men who also bear the marks of the world’s racist history.
So today HBP Wellness Lifestyle Podcast with Donna Williams is for my Black and brown skinned community a guide in finding joy while illnesses manifest itself within our bodies partially brought on from our generational fears and pain.
I’m urging you to let us stay close, take our health needs seriously and to know it is our right to think good health as being much more than the mere absence of disease. Today let’s consider how can we stop devaluing our bodies and our psyches and become warriors against high blood pressure, and stress that afflict our communities.
Today’s episode is about my black and brown skinned community that have illnesses manifesting within their bodies, find joy while dealing with generational fears and pains.
The trauma that is witness in the Black community is sometimes of extreme emotional response to an event, and our inability to use our coping skills triggers high blood pressure and other chronic illnesses.
What you don’t realize is confronting that trauma happening within the mind and body is the first step in treating its effects on your health. In the African American community, a lot of the trauma is about survival.
Zoa Neale Hurston wrote “The Black woman is the mule of the world’. Wherein she talked about where it is expected that we take care of everyone but ourselves and carry everyone’s load but our own. So, who takes care of you!
When YOU can answer that question, you’ll be in either of these two places:
This new body comes with blood pressure within the recommended guidelines, reversal of type II diabetes and other reversible diseases, along with a lowering of your body's BMI.

Do you know some of your seemingly unconscious or innocent behaviors that you do daily might be raising your blood pressure therefore putting you at risk for a stroke? The more we can see health as a practice rather than as a problem to fix, the more we encourage the body's natural potential to be healthy. Also, do you know there’s a difference between hypertension and high blood pressure? We’ll be getting into all of this here today.
Today’s episode is about daily actions we engage in that might be putting us at risk for a stroke because these action raises our blood pressure. And do you know there’s a difference between hypertension and high blood pressure?
Hypertension is actually a disease of the blood vessels involving changes in their structure and functions that is associated with the constellation of other cardiovascular risk factors.
While high blood pressure is a long-term medical condition in which blood pressure in the arteries is persistently elevated.
Lets go a little deeper…don’t worry I’ll be going through some of your daily habits that's raising your blood pressure but I need you to be aware of the differences between these two classifications.
Hypertension is an entirely metabolic syndrome made up of a group of complex clusters of abnormalities, including problems with excessive blood clotting, abnormal glucose metabolism, insulin resistance, Type II diabetes, dense LDL bad cholesterol, high triglycerides and low HDL good cholesterol.
Most obvious sign of hypertension is the accumulation of belly fat known as apple obesity. All these conditions result in damages to the arteries and increased cardiovascular problems.
There are two major classifications of hypertension, and they are essential - primary or genetic; and secondary. Herein lies the differences between hypertension and high blood pressure.

With the start of daylight-saving time where the clock jumps forward an hour, during my adjustment period I struggle with fatigue, that’s why we’ll be talking today about the many ways to boost your energy levels naturally. Here is what we women need to know about our hormones and fatigue and I’ll be providing ways to combat this fatigue, get better sleep and ways to boost your energy levels naturally.
Fatigue is a common problem that affects people of all ages and backgrounds. Sleep disruptions can stem from work or school schedules, inconsistent sleep patterns, daylight-saving-time, or general stress and anxiety. But whatever the cause, chronic fatigue can seriously impact our ability to function normally.
Our adrenal glands provide us with crucial hormonal support that’s needed for us to go through the day with energy, enthusiasm, and efficiency. If your adrenals are depleted, well its very like that you’ll suffer from fatigue and have to deal with menopausal symptoms.
Here are some of the signs if your adrenals may need some looking after.
If this is you, your adrenals may be running on almost empty. My doctor referred me for adrenal testing. It is a test that measures the levels of two key adrenal hormones over a twenty-four-hour period.
At first, fatigue might seem merely annoying or inconvenient. But if we ignore these warning signs and allow our fatigue to persist for too long, it can start to affect our mental and physical health.
Here are some ways you can naturally boost your energy: Get Enough Sleep; Eat More Often; Exercise Regularly; Limit Caffeine; Drink Water, Take Power Nap.

What is HBP Wellness Lifestyle all about. Well, it is for YOU if you desire a strong body, healthy longer life, and looking younger than your age. The strategy is to keep your body working as vibrantly at 60 as it was at 30, having a physical fit pain-free body that moves easily through life. You have the power to unlock your potential longevity. Someone once said this to me… aging may be inevitable, but the rate you age is certainly not.
We start with the knowledge that we can extend our longevity by making sure we lower the risk for all diseases and the only way to do that, is to slow your rate of aging on the cellular level. With the right maintenance and revitalization along with the use of the right resources we can live gracefully as we age.
Aging isn’t about the body breaking down, because we are designed with the ability to repair ourselves. Over time our cells lose their resilience, they lose the ability to repair the damages happening within our bodies, like the hammering of high blood pressure on our organs, and the mitochondria and telomeres aren’t working the way they should.
Now you may ask is there an enjoyable and easy way to reverse the impact of uncontrolled blood pressure on your body. And I can emphatically say yes. You can loosen that grip that high blood pressure has on your body, life and mind, without losing your joy in life.
The aim of HBP Wellness Lifestyle Podcast is to have you become aware of the power you hold in your hands, your choices and how you can go about your whole body’s maintenance.

Hello, today we’ll be talking about six things that protect women’s hearts from cardiovascular disease. I’ll be sharing with you why we’re losing and what will help.
Lets get started with today’s episode that is about Heart Healthy hacks on women’s heart and how they can protect themselves from cardiovascular disease by incorporating 6 important things into their lives. Once you have been diagnosed with high blood pressure or high cholesterol, or you have both, you can improve your odds with these things. Of course, you know that heart disease is the number one killer of women.
My girlfriend, at the time she was in her early 50s, one night woke up to extreme chest pains, she said it was like a bonfire burning within her chest, and could barely breathe. She was having a heart attack. Test revealed her left anterior descending artery; the heart’s largest artery was 99.9 percent blocked. She never smoked, her cholesterol levels were normal, her weight and blood pressure were off just a little according to the BMI chart and the American Heart Association, but women have different types of muscle makeup.
Included in our conversation today is how you can make some simple swaps to your meals that makes for a healthy heart.
First, I want you to know how friendships are excellent protections of women hearts and that you should know your health risk during pregnancy matters a lot.
Where women hearts And High Blood Pressure care are concerned, we must keep our waist circumference at 35 inches or below. And, if that measurement is higher, then you're at a greater risk for heart disease. This is usually because we are overweight.
We already know all these information and the need for women awareness, but Dr. Goldberg, medical director of NYU Langone Medical Center, overheard a doctor saying that women don't get heart disease. She immediately recognized what she had already knew that women needed to start a dialogue about their own unique risk factors, and created The Joan H. Tisch Center for Women’s Health.
Why we’re losing the war against heart disease with these 6 Things that Every Woman Should Know About Her Heart: - Thin Women Can Be At Risk. Feeling Lonely And Depressed Isn't Good For Your Hea
