Birth Healing Summit Podcast

How to Fight Fairly

Listen Later

Have you had someone question you on your perspective? Were you able to stay neutral or did you get defensive?

In today’s podcast, Lynn’s guest The Physio Detective, Antony Lo, talks about how remaining open in a conversation can help you see what the underlying objective or reasoning is behind someone’s words. When we throw out the entirety of a person’s experience because we disagree with their terminology or explanation, then we are shutting down the conversation and missing an opportunity to educate and create growth.

Antony explains that when we approach a conversation with an open mind and in a respectful manner that values someone’s perspective, even when it is different from our own, we can create challenging and meaningful conversation that allows all participants to grow and learn without triggering a defensive response. Staying open minded and neutral can be difficult, but knowing everyone is on a journey with different experiences to share, can help overcome disagreements in reasoning and allow all perspectives to be voiced.

You don’t want to miss today’s podcast on how to fight for your perspective in a respectful manner.
