Blessings everyone, today I want to take a moment to introduce my new complete course on the practice of meditation called Meditation 101: How to Build & Deepen Your At Home Practice. The most in depth meditation course for beginners. It’s been a passion project of mine for the better part of a year now and I couldn’t be happier to have it out in the world.. well almost! It will be released on October 3rd, just under a month from now. I will share a lot more about this in the coming weeks. Including interviews discussing meditation with all my mentors, a giveaway with some awesome prizes and a 5 day meditation challenge to dip your toes into different styles of meditation. You can sign up right now on my website braydonmackenzie.com to be notified when the course is available and there will also be early bird pricing available a full week leading up to release day!
Included in the course is my new 24 page book on meditation, 15 high quality instructional videos, 15 custom guided meditations, a roadmap to building your own meditation practice, lifetime access & more!
The topics covered include the anatomy & benefits of meditation, meditation history, styles of meditation, postures for meditation plus demonstrations of them & exercises to make seated positions more accessible, finding your breath & basic pranayama, common challenges with meditation, distractions & how to overcome them, how to structure your at home practice through a series of questions, external resources and in depth japa meditation instruction.
If you are looking to expand your knowledge on the practice of meditation, build an at home practice that fits your needs and deepen that practice into something consistent and beneficial to your life. Then you are who I created this course for. I teach you everything I have learned through my international teacher trainings with Dylan Werner, Daniel Rama, Sarah Bonsall & Kelly Smith, compounded upon by my own self study. This has truly been a labour of love for me as I believe there is no singular practice more beneficial to ones wellbeing than a daily meditation practice. I like to say that every step we take to better understand our internal world is a step that impacts our outer world and those we share it with. I hope we can share this journey into meditation together.

This topic, the Anatomy of Meditation answers two common questions in regards to the practice, "why meditate?" and "what are the benefits?". In this podcast episode I give you a sneak peek at my upcoming course Meditation 101. This is the topic of the first video in the course. I hope you enjoy my first podcast episode that is not a guided meditation, those will be back starting in October. Until then I have upcoming episodes that are interviews with my greatest mentors when it comes to meditation! You can sign up to be notified of the release of my new course right now on my website.

Japa meditation is the style of meditation that has captivated my interest and curiosity when it comes to a meditation practice ever since I was introduced to it just over a year ago. This is why I love to share this style and use this podcast platform to introduce you to different mantras that can be used for japa. This mantra translates to prostrations to Lord Shiva. Lord Shiva is the third member of the Hindu Trinity and represents the universal power of destruction in which all existence ends and from which it arises again.

I’ve had the image of lake so still it looks like glass in my mind for a while as a podcast idea and just couldn’t turn it into a fully fledged guided meditation until now. This is definitely an interesting episode and I hope you enjoy listening to it as much as I did writing it. The idea behind it is as follows, “When our thoughts are turbulent and have no focused direction, our reflection cannot be seen in the water for the wind is too violent. When we focus our thoughts over and over again in one direction, slowly the wind dies, the water stills and our reflection is staring back at us, a serene image of stillness.”

Sometimes all you have in the morning is 5 or 6 minutes. Still fitting in your meditation practice is important, even more so when you feel rushed. Those few minutes of slowing down and finding stillness are crucial and that is what this meditation has been made for. This quick guided meditation is certain to begin your day off in a way that will serve you.

My journey into meditation began with simple breath awareness and thats the idea of this weeks episode. A simple breath awareness meditation that anyone can turn to regardless of experience. I find ten minutes to be the sweet spot for building a consistent practice, especially with beginners so thats the length I have for you today. This guided meditation teaches you how to harness your breath as the perfect focal point for relaxation.

This week I have for you my first guest episode! My friend Rachel was kind enough to create a beautiful meditation for everyone called “Igniting Your Spark”. It is an incredible journey inward to find and amplify that which is already within you. I really hope you enjoy listening to it as much as I did editing it. Much love.
When she’s not guiding meditations or meditating herself, Rachel is a ghostwriter and copyeditor for small businesses in wellness. She’s also a coach, yoga teacher and energy healer.
You can work 1 on 1 with Rachel through online women’s and mums’ Empowerment Coaching, private meditation coaching, and distance Reiki healings or join her to elevate your spiritual practice on one of her monthly 30 Day High Vibration Challenges.

Returning to guided imagery this week, which happen to be the most popular episodes. This time it’s a journey deep into the forest. A space I truly love to go and I hope the chosen words for this guided meditation allow you to visit a place of equal beauty. This practice includes a tense and release portion for max relaxation as well as an epic background music combination I spent a little extra time on crafting.

This weeks episode is a Loving Kindness or Metta meditation. This is a popular style of meditation that involves radiating loving kindness to yourself and extending that eventually to all beings through a gradual process. Its worth noting that this is only a short 16 minute meditation and that the practice of Loving Kindness meditation can be a very involved one that takes a lot of returning to to fully grasp. If you find yourself interested in this style specifically I recommend looking into it!

This week is a meditation that can be used for the daily practice of japa (or whenever you choose). Aimed at allowing enough time to complete 2 to 3 rounds of your chosen or given mantra. Japa is the style of meditation I do everyday and hope to spread it to as many people as I can.
FYI if you are new to the practice of Japa and want to learn, I have a FREE Japa Meditation journal available on my website that teaches you everything you need to know! Download FREE Meditation Journals
