Determining whether or not a guy is a keeper depends significantly on his Emotional  Intelligence (EI). Emotional intelligence is a person’s ability to have deep and important conversations. When a couple has high EI, they are talking about their future dreams and getting to know the other person on a deeper level.

Low EI is the opposite, where the conversations are shallow and have very little back and forth interaction. Not every conversation has to be deep but the ability to go to that level is important for the sustainability of the relationship.
