In Part 2 of Shanae's story, we pick up with Rodney, the person who police discovered to be in contact with Shanae on the day of / night before her murder.   As we eluded to last week, this breaks the case wide open and leads us down a road no one saw coming.

In September 2001, Crystal Taylor was going about her life -- working, taking care of her 10 year old son and spending time with her family.  She had just returned from a trip to Texas where she was busy caring for her mother, who was suffering from heart disease.  Two days after returning from the trip, the family would get horrific news: Crystal had been murdered.  As the police race to solve the case, they are met with surprise developments that throw the case into an almost 2 decade loop.

 In 1990, three year old, Courtney Smith, is taken in the middle of the night from her bed.   The next day, her family makes a devastating discovery.  The police arrest Levon Brooks for her murder.  Eighteen months later, three year old, Christine Jackson, is also taken from her home in the middle of the night.  The crimes are extremely similar in nature — even down to the age of the girls.   Could it be a copy cat killer?  A horrific coincidence?
