Then she is joined by attorney, Monica Miller of The Non Human Rights Project. Monica can be seen in the HBO documentary, "Unlocking The Cage" and she recently made headlines for representing Happy the elephant in New York's highest court.
A New York Times article stated Happy was "The Loneliest Elephant" due to her 40 plus year isolation in the Bronx Zoo. Happy's attorneys fought to free her from the zoo and bring her to a sanctuary. Jamie and Monica go over the details and the outcome of the landmark trial.
Jamie shares her personal connection to Happy and how she once met her.
Last, they switch gears and discuss Monica's recent trip to Paris, her hotel recommendation, and where to get the best Parisian vegan food.

Trauma results from exposure to an incident or series of events that are emotionally disturbing or life-threatening with lasting adverse effects on the individual's functioning, and mental, physical, social, emotional, and/or spiritual well-being.
Most people have experienced trauma. Self-preservation behaviors (trauma responses) can be greatly misinterptreted or misunderstood. Bringing awareness to it is important and addressing it is necessary.
