很多人第一次听到 “Not in the same league”

这个短语时，会按照字面意思理解为 “不在同一个联盟”。

它有着截然不同的含义。

“Not in the same league” 意思是

“水平不在一个档次；不是一个级别的”。

这里的 “league” 并非仅指组织层面的 “联盟”，

而是用来衡量人或事物在能力、技能、水平、档次等方面的 “层级”，

当两者在这些维度存在明显差距，无法相提并论时，就可以用这个短语来描述。

这个用法的来源于体育赛事。在足球、篮球等体育项目中，

“league”（联赛）会根据队伍实力划分不同级别，

比如英超、英冠就是英国足球不同层级的联赛，不同联赛的队伍实力差距显著。

人们由此类比，将 “不在同一个联赛” 延伸为 “实力、水平不在同一层级”，
