Gallup's largest study ever on the "Future Of Work" led to 52 new discoveries on leadership effectiveness -- many of which Harter addresses. One key take-away if that while our workplaces are experiencing profound & rapid change, we remain reliant on managerial practices from a long-gone era.
Harter has compiled a data-base of 40 million workers around the world who have completed an engagement survey within their organization. From an analysis of this data, he discovered a massive spread from top to bottom team performance -- and 70% of the variation in employee engagement can be attributed to the team's manager.
