  • JFD606: Departure, Hello, Rain, Black Mirror: Striking Vipers
We're black to the future yet again this week with a trio of Afrofuturist short films! Up first! It's 2017's The Departure - a short film about an alien couple hiding inside human bodies on Earth while being stalked by a man not very familiar with the workings of cell phones. Or at least that's what Sean noticed about it. Next up! Oh no, Sean's gone Nigerian again? Don't worry, the PBS-affiliated Hello, Rain (from 2018) is nothing like Beach 24. Well, unless you loved Beach 24. Then they're very similar. It's got killer kaiju ladies in wild, colorful wigs! Finally! Of course, it's 2019's Black Mirror: Striking Vipers, the first episode of the fifth season of the streaming television show - you know, the one where Parker made us watch gay VR. All this plus the joy of watching an old man get kicked in the nuts, old-fashioned jackassery, Kevin regrets defending a woman, mild Skype audio artifacting, a tribute to the man who paved the way for Meatballs 4, three old men get everything wrong about the Sonic the Hedgehog mythos, 90s ringtones, bonafide players in the Nollywood film scene, paid endorsements from our proud sponsors, nerd news and even more! • JFD603: Delinquent Girl Boss: Tokyo Drifters, O Lucky Man!, The Man with Two Brains
Those intrepid weirdos we call the Dom Deluise Club have done it yet again. And by 'it', we mean they've picked three very different cult flicks for us to review, as is their monthly ritual. Up first! It's Delinquent Girl Boss: Tokyo Drifters, one of them sleazy pinky violence flicks from Japan (via patreon pal Steve M), coming early in the genre's history with its 1970 release date. In fact, it just might be the earliest movie we've seen in which bare boobs are deployed as a mid-fight distraction tactic. Next up! Oh no, a 3-hour British flick? O! Lucky Man (from 1973 & picked by Justin D) seems like a surefire way to piss off at least two of your three charming JFD hosts. But can the presence of Malcolm McDowell alleviate the misery? The only way to know is to listen (or check the replay on the evening news). Finally! Of course, it's 1983's The Man with Two Brains, our long-awaited dissection of this important entry in the series of films Carl Reiner made with Steve Martin. And since it's got both boobs and brains, how the hell did it take all three of us this long to finally see it? (picked by Ricky O) All this plus strugglin' with Skype, Parker's Wynorski binge, the brittle bones of a 70-year old Gene Kelly, surprising physical media news, the Dinklage Report co-starring Sean, no junkmails, Kevin picks his "trash-art beserker" of the week, boobies floppin' everywhere, nerd news and even more! Recorded live-to-tape on National Observe the Weather Day, 2022!! Direct Donloyd Here Got a movie suggestion for the show, or better yet an opinion on next week's movies? • JFD601: Himiko, The Astrologer, Slave Girls from Beyond Infinity
This week on JFD, the boys are left to their own devices to pick whatever they want and as expected, we end up with three very different but very unique cult flicks! Up first, we dive deep into the surreal world of Japanese folklore with the colorful Himiko from 1974 about a three tribes at odds with one another, complicated by the arrival of a mysterious traveler. Then, we get to see the once-thought-lost vanity project The Astrologer from 1975 about a fortune teller who uses his powers to travel the globe and build an empire.  And finally, one of the best titles and posters in 80's cult cinema, Slave Girls from Beyond Infinity from 1987 stars Elizabeth Kaitan and Cindy Beal as a pair of scantily-clad space babes being hunted by a weirdo and his robots . All this plus Sean's TV dies, Parker sees Red Rocket, Robert from Sweden drops some knowledge, the Foo Fighters horror movie, Ti West tries to mix porno and horror, Disney ruins Kevin's werewolf dreams and so much more. • JFD600: A Woman's Torment, Frat House, The Devil in Miss Jones 4: The Final Outrage
Episode Six Hundred? That’s a long time podcasting. But episode Sex Hundred? That’s a schlongtime podcasting. Join us this week as we celebrate this important milestone the only way we know how: by reviewing three pornographic films! On top of that, we'll also be running down our Top 5 favorite movie-watches of the past year. Happy Nude Year, junkies! Up first! It's 1977's proto-slasher slash bonerjam A Woman's Torment, an erotic favorite for those who are attracted to women crying in showers. Directed by hardcore feminist Roberta Findlay, this skinflick isn't satisfied with removing mere clothing from human bodies. But is that really what we wanted at this time of year? Next up! Those wacky college boys sure do know how to party, huh? It's your dad's favorite UCLA-set coming-of-age flick, Natural Lamporn's Frat House (from 1979). Sure, the plot construction is weak, but these pranksters are horny as heck. Finally! Of course, it's 1986's The Devil in Miss Jones 4: The Final Outrage, our long-awaited dissection of this important entry in this landmark series of fuckfilms. As with the last entry, this one's directed by Gregory Dark and features more punkrock hairstyles than you can shake your stick at. But will we possibly remember the important plot details for a movie which we last reviewed a full eight years prior? All this plus our baby boy Byron's all grown up, droppin' triple Oh's, Kevin's ability to memorize spells is in question, Christmas Hauls chats, addin' movies to the Junk Yard, exactly one JFD host remains opposed to Letterboxd, Parker Bowman reveals his true feelings on David Lynch, Quaid-blamin', a star-studded Junkmail section, the lingering echoes of off-mic sneezes, chocolate speedways, corpulent Corpus Christi cabbies copulating, the scent of wildflowers, nerd news and even more! Recorded live-to-tape on National Dimpled Chad Day, 2022!! Direct Donloyd Here Got a movie suggestion for the show, or better yet an opinion on next week's movies?
