What madness is this? No movies on Junk Food Dinner this week? Schlocktober's getting real wild as we cover not one, not two, but eight episodes of HBO's Tales from the Crypt! S03E02 "Carrion Death" // Steven E. de Souza // June 15, 1991 An escaped con (Kyle MacLachlan) running for the Mexican border ends up killing a state trooper (George Del Hoyo), but in the process is cuffed to him and has to drag the heavy corpse across the desert to freedom. S04E06 "What's Cookin'" // Gilbert Adler // July 22, 1992 A couple's (Christopher Reeve and Bess Armstrong) failing restaurant gets a huge boost when a drifter (Judd Nelson) gives them a steak recipe that's made of human flesh. • JFD284: (Spanish) Dracula, The Invisible Man, The Wolf-Man
Junk Food Dinner. 284. Crank up that phonograph, JFD is universally old-school. We've got a theme celebrating (or maybe complaining about) The Universal Monsters. First, Count Dracula arrives in England to drink blood and find a bride in 1931's "Dracula." Don't expect any Bela Legosi, though. This is the Spanish version. Filmed on the same sets at the same time, just with different actors. Then, a scientist goes mad with power after an experiment goes wrong in 1933's "The Invisible Man." This flick's based on the classic HG Welles' book that created the invisible mans genre. Finally, a man gets bitten by a wolf while visiting family in 1941's "The Wolf-Man." Lon Chaney Jr, Bela Legosi and Claude Rains deal with the curse of lycanthropy in this flick that created many of the werewolf rules. All this, plus GWAR Chat, DVDs, Nerd News, lots of Junk Mails, farts, a fake German, Mark from Oakland, all the goofy callers, and so much more. Donloyd Here BUY A GHOUL SUMMER SHIRT, BUTTHORN!

  • JFD283: A Nightmare on Elm Street 4: The Dream Master, A Nightmare on Elm Street 5: The Dream Child, Freddy's Dead: The Final Nightmare
Happy Schlocktober, bitch! This week we celebrate everyone's favorite dream demon with a super long (almost 3 hours, yeesh!) episode covering some of the later-era Nightmare on Elm Street flicks! Up first, Freddy's back fucking with some of Dream Warriors from the previous film and some new kids too in A Nightmare on Elm Street 4: The Dream Master from 1988 starring Lisa Wilcox and Tuesday Knight and directed by Renny Harlin. Then, Freddy's back at it, but this time he's manipulating the dream world through an unborn kid in A Nightmare on Elm Street 5: The Dream Child from 1989 starring Lisa Wilcox (again) and Kelly Jo Minter.  And finally, we get some backstory on Mr. Krueger as we find out he had a wife and kid, but could his kid be the one who finally puts an end to him? We find out in Freddy's Dead: The Final Nightmare from 1991 starring Lisa Zane and Shon Greenblatt, with cameos from Johnny Depp, Roseanne & Tom Arnold and Alice Cooper. All this plus spooky Halloween decorations, sad lunch lady stories, non-drunk Australians, the rebirth of 'pussy good', blu-rays, Nerd News, Kyle from Kentucky, Freddy memories and so much more! • JFD282: Friday the 13th Part V: A New Beginning, Friday the 13th Part VI: Jason Lives, Friday the 13th Part VII: The New Blood
Break out the pumpkin spice, candy corn, and horror movies taped off television - it's finally Schlocktober! In our first week in this month-long tribute to horror movies, we take a rain-soaked trip to Crystal Lake, "Forest Green", and some random halfway house for some reason. It's Friday the 13th week! First up! Picking up the story of Tommy Jarvis a decade later (but somehow in the same time period as well), Friday the 13th: A New Beginning is best remembered as being most divergent from the series. Rather than take place at Crystal Lake, it takes place at a rural halfway house. And instead of Jason Voorhees being responsible for the killing, we have a new mystery man behind the mask. Do these changes breathe new life into the series, or is this a totally bogus entry into the series? You'll know soon. Up next! Friday the 13th Part VI: Jason Lives is generally credited with introducing the supernatural element to Jason's aura, and brings him back to the Crystal Lake setting. It's also got a paintball match in it, which makes this a favorite among residents of Arizona. Finally! Telekinetic Lar Park "Superstar" Lincoln does battle with Kane Hodder's first rendition of Jason Voorhees in Friday the 13th Part VII: The New Blood. Originally planned as a Freddy Krueger cross-over, this sequel from director John Carl Buechler was heavily cut by the MPAA to prevent an X rating. All this plus witty banter between friends, Nerd News, DVDs, Strong Politics, Freddy Krueger chats, Green Inferno chats, Parker's well-reasoned defense of the Paranormal Activity movies, Intoxicated listener voicemails, Quentin Tarantino's Digital Outrage, AGFA Getting into Something Weird, Nerd News & This Week's Home Video Picks, minimal skype noise(!), cats in the closet, absolute confidentiality, continued lack of overt police involvement, sneezes, belches, gleeks and a whole lot more! • JFD281: Dude Bro Party Massacre 3, The Giant Claw, She-Devil
Junk Food Dinner's back and things are gonna get schwifty. First, a group of frat bros deal with a slasher in the 2015 fake 80s movie "Dude Bro Party Massacre 3." Made by the guys behind 5 Second Movies, this movie flips the gender switch and has a female stalker slash up a bunch of frat bros in emulated 80s fashion. Next, an extra terrestrial kaiju bird made of anti-matter attacks New York in 1957's "The Giant Claw." The flick is remembered for its horrible bird creature. But should it be remembered for more? Finally, Roseanne Barr plots revenge on her husband and his mistress in 1989's "She Devil." Roseanne's husband, Ed Begley Jr, meets Meryl Streep at a party and they fall in love. So, Roseanne becomes the Punisher. But if gangsters were people who had fallen out of love. All this, plus work chat, controversial opinions, DVDS, Blu Rays, Memphis Maniacs and one of your hosts reaches the breaking point. Donloyd Here Schlocktober kicks off next week, so let's get spoopy! Until then, Hide the Bodies are printing a second round of Ghoul Summer shirts, so go buy them Here!

  • JFD280: Mischief, Death Promise, Birds of Prey (AKA Beaks: The Movie)
This week JFD brings you the three B's: boners, badasses and birds! Up first, we're transported back to Ohio in the 1950's, where two high school kids (Doug McKeon and Chris Nash) fall in love with two foxy broads (Kelly Preston and Catherine Mary Stewart) and desperately try to get laid in the often overlooked sex-comedy Mischief from 1985. Then, we take a trip to shithole 70's New York City, where greedy landlords are trying to force Charley (Charles Bonet) and the other tenants out of their crummy apartment in order to raise the rent. But when the fat cats have Charley's father killed, he teams up with his pal (Speedy Leacock) to get sweet, sweet revenge in Death Promise from 1977. And finally, René Cardona Jr, director of Tintorera: Killer Shark, tells the tale of what would happen if birds mysteriously started attacking people (gee, where did he get that idea?). Christopher Atkins (the cretin from Blue Lagoon) and Michelle Johnson (the chick from Waxwork) play reporters traveling the globe to figure out what's causing this birdemic in Birds of Prey (AKA Beaks: The Movie) from 1987. All this plus autumn snax chat, working from home, blu-rays, Nerd News, Kyle from Kentucky, movies shot on cell phones, boner memories and so much more! • JFD279: Walking Tall (2004), The Birds II: Land's End (1994), Rollerball (2002)
Last week we covered a trio of respected cult classics, and this week we tackle their remakes. With the second time be a charm? Or will we encounter some sophomore slumps? Tune in and we'll find out together. First up! WWE Films debut feature remakes the story of Buford Pusser, a former professional wrestler-turned-Sheriff in rural Tennessee with Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson. Only this time, he's an ex-marine in the Pacific Northwest, and his name's Chris Vaughn. Oh, and Johnny Knoxville was there. For some reasons? It's the 2004 remake of Walking Tall! Up next! Sean might've "Freado'd his pick" this week, but if you're really into Lifetime Channel movies, this might've been a smart gambit. It's the 1994 TV movie The Birds II: Land's End, starring a guy who takes his shirt off! Set in the same house as the original, with pretty much the same plot as the original, this sequel features marital difficulties and soft-lens photography. It's emotional! Finally! If you don't remember who Chris Klein is, be prepared to get painfully reintroduced to his filmography via 2002's Rollerball remake! Reconfigured to take place in the present-day "Central Asia" instead of a dystopian future, this remake resembles the original mostly in name only. Paul E. Dangerously is the color commentator - does that do anything for you? It's a movie. All this plus witty banter between friends, Nerd News, DVDs, Downer's Grove chats, hot plates chats, a caller from West Virginnie, hhoul innovations from The Ghoulfather, the sweetest caller in Podcast Town, Goonies LARPing, relaxing entertainment, Sk-krrzz-zz-kype N-rrrzz-oise, a couple guys who worked on Franco, a whole lot of night-vision, absolute confidentiality, continued lack of police involvement, sneezes, belches, gleeks and a whole lot more! • JFD278: Walking Tall, The Birds, Rollerball
Junk Food Dinner. 278. Part one of an epic 2-parter is here as we talk cult classics. This week, we'll be talking about the original classics and come back next week as we watch their remakes. First, Joe Don Baker plays Buford T. Pusser as he takes on Tennessee's crime and corruption in "Walking Tall" from 1973. This movie is based on the real life of a pro wrestler turned sheriff who fought off the Dixie Mafia and other corrupt baddies. Next, the people of Bodega Bay are besieged by feathered fiends in "The Birds." This Alfred Hitchcock classic kicks off "SeptemBIRD," Sean's month-long journey into fowl territory. Finally, James Caan slaps on some skates for fun and for violence in 1975's "Rollerball." It's the future and the world is run by corporations who want to crush the world's last might hero. All this, plus DVDs, Nerd News, Sad Nerd News, Did Parker kill Wes Craven?, Podcast Town Chat, Weird new outros, new bumpers, classics for us to hate, Fury Road Chat, Wayne calls in with some N-Bombs, Memphis Maniacs and so much more! • JFD277: Slaughter, Action Jackson, Surviving the Game
Get ready for bombs, bullets and badasses with our third and final week of Shock & Awe-gust, with Kevin's theme show featuring three exciting "black-tion" flicks. Up first, Jim Brown is a Vietnam vet/Green Beret, who returns home after his parents are killed in a mob hit. After a botched attempt at revenge, the US Treasury recruits him to travel to "South America" to bust up the mob ring (including Rip Torn and Stella Stevens) and find the ones responsible for his parents' death in Slaughter from 1972. Next, Carl Weathers is a Detroit cop with a reputation as one mean son of a bitch, in Action Jackson from 1988. When union leaders are being killed off in explosive fashion, Jackson is hot on the trail of Craig T. Nelson who is the president of a large car company. With the help of Sharon Stone and Vanity, Jackson vows to get his man, no matter how much damage he does in the process. Finally, Ice-T is a homeless man in Seattle who's about ready to end it all when he's offered a job as a "hunting guide' by a group of rich dudes (Charles Dutton, Rutger Hauer, Gary Busey, F. Murray Abraham, etc), he accepts and travels with them into the remote wilderness. But things quickly go bad when Ice-T realizes they won't be hunting animals, they will be hunting him in Surviving the Game from 1994. All this plus witty banter between friends, Nerd News, blu-rayss, Podcast Town Talk, Kyle from Kentucky, pencil dicks, Nintendo Nerd News, funk soundtracks, movies Sean has never seen, Nostalgic Softspots, More Skype Noise, absolute confidentiality, continued lack of police involvement and a whole lot more!  LISTEN NOW: MP3 Direct Donloyd Got a movie suggestion for the show, want to give your opinion on a movie we talked about or just want to tell us we suck?
