一.Status of Recurrent Outbreaks美国疫情现状

据美国CDC（疾病控制和预防中心）报告：

截至北京时间2022年1月23日，in the last 30 days，total cases达到了61,732,283。

837, 274 have been fatal.死亡人数为837, 274。

美国还存在着some ongoing issues with vaccination：79.2% 的人打过至少一只疫苗within the approved age range（获批准的年龄范围）。

随着疫情vicious cycle（恶性循环）的继续, and new variants become prominent新变异的毒株变得显著。

美国现在疫情流行的变异毒株是omicron（奥密克戎）。

一些轻症病人得不到治疗：Some mild cases go untreated.

对大多数的患者来说，他们并不serious，所以他们只是stay at home and quarantine，直到they’re tested negative（阴性），就可以外出了。

美国人民现在把疫情看作是一场普通的flu（流感），如果感染了疫情，他们只是觉得“I got a cold”。虽然疫情死亡率比较高，they’re not sacred.因为死亡人数中，很多是old generation（老年人），还有一些人是有pre-existing conditions（已存在疾病）。

大多数人只有在必要的时候going to work or getting groceries，但也是尽量避免 parties, movies, clubs, and bars。

To reduce the spread，大多数的人选择work from home，学生上课也是online或者online和in person（面授课）交替上。

四.The Mentality of the American People美国人民的社会心态

对新冠疫情，人们have slowly accustomed themselves（已经适应了）。

已经意识到疫情严峻性（the severity of this pandemic）的人，会确保他们自己are fully vaccinated with the booster dose（加强针）。

对于那些不相信疫苗的人（who are not convinced about the vaccinations），have been restricted from going to a lot of public places（出行受限）。

出行不仅要出示health code（健康码），还要出示vaccination card（疫苗接种卡）。

人们现在只能take precautions（采取预防措施）, follow CDC protocols（遵循CDC协议） and go on about their life on a day to day basis（继续日常生活）。
