When I was 15 years old and watching the Sydney Olympics, I remember seeing another 15 year old, waggle her fingernails at the camera and go on to win a silver medal in the 100m breaststroke. It totally blew my mind, that someone my age was standing there on the world stage, not just mixing it with the best in the world but winning medals! This made me realise that swimming might be something that maybe I could possibly do too.

That 15 year old girl was Leisel Jones. Not only did she mix it with the best, she DOMINATED the sport over four Olympics and took her events to levels that people couldn’t have believed were possible!

I loved this chat with my teammate and friend and make sure you listen right until the end where I awkwardly tell her I love her. Hahahhaa. She handled it like a pro.
