At 24, former model and award-winning advertising gal Lisa Cox had a brain haemorrhage and died. Thankfully, she was brought back to life, but the stroke left its impact and turned her life upside down in an instant. Lisa had to navigate her ‘new normal’; a wheelchair, amputations, chronic pain, heart surgery and more…including learning to write again. And write she does!

Now 40, author and marketing pro Lisa is all about changing the way physical disability is represented in mainstream pop culture. She discusses everything from how frustratingly often her husband is mistaken for her carer, to being ‘the token disabled friend’, fashion inclusivity, things not to say to a person with physical limitations…and just how much she LOVES her life.
