  • 010: Avoiding MELTDOWNS PART I
    Word of the Week: Self-Awareness
Are you self-aware? Are you self-aware when you need it most? Are you reflective after those moments where your self-awareness escapes you?
You gotta watch this! But we break the audio down the best we can.
VIDEO: One of the Best Meltdowns in History !!!
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sH3jUDLmVlc&feature=youtu.be
How do we avoid having meltdowns over things we cannot control? Self-awareness people.
This guy is no different than the rest of us. This can happen to any of us if we aren’t self-aware enough to recognize the warning signs.
07:28 – We can all relate to this guy
08:06 – A lot of problems we encounter in life can be dealt with if we planned better
09:13 – Dave W. has been having a time for the past few weeks which has made it hard for him to keep on the morning routine
11:28 – David G has his sleep apnea under control but has been unable to fully re-establish his morning routine the way he’d like to
12:20 – We break down the featured videos this week. Be self-aware of your emotions. When you’re in a bad place, you need to recognize it and be proactive about changing that feeling. You can’t get anything done in that state. Before you deal with any problem you have to be in the right frame of mind.
16:39 – Beware technology, especially first thing in the morning
18:29 – Write everything down that’s bothering you/needs to be done. Empty your brain, get it out of your head and onto paper. From that list, figure out which need to be done now, done by someone else or not done at all and are just there.
22:42 - Planning ahead and sticking to that plan. Use a daily planner. When planning your time for a project, factor in problems and fatigue. Figure in extra time for the bull-crap. Have an efficient way of dealing with deadlines. (This is something we will go into detail next episode) Stick with your routine. Don’t allow your feeling of being overwhelmed take you off your game. Old habits creep in when you feel overwhelmed.

  • 008: What “Living It” Means
So, what does “Living It” actually mean? It isn’t some cookie cutter ideology, or a one size fits all routine. It’s an individual mindset allowing us to see what’s going on in our lives that isn’t what we want, and a systematic approach to understanding that and changing those circumstances.
That doesn’t happen overnight, and it isn’t something we solve in one episode. Instead we take several episodes like this one to understand what is amiss and use that knowledge to grow. In this episode David G. takes a deep dive into the roadblocks he is encountering in his life and Dave Wein dishes out some excellent advice on how to combat those troubles. Spoiler alert – it involves a cookie jar.
    Word of the Week: Understanding
04:39 – We’re putting ourselves on public display trying out these self-help techniques – So, how are we doing?
07:12 – What does “Living It” really mean?
09:28 – Understanding our problems and changing behavior is harder than David G. thought it was going to be
13:01 – Understanding behavior needs to happen on an intellectual level as well as on an emotional level or else changing behavior won’t stick
18:53 – Understanding where anger comes from and how we process it will help us control our worst impulses
22:29 – When you’re angry, do this… go back into your cookie jar

  • 007: You Are What You Eat
We’re talking about what we’re actually consuming. We have set goals to eat healthier but what we actually eat sometimes doesn’t fit well with our goals (especially when we’re fleeing a hurricane)
    Word of the Week: Kindness
03:48 – We discuss how our lives have been impacted since starting the show
04:54 – David G. discusses how important it is to recognize one’s own behavior – if you don’t you’ll end up doing things you’ve vowed not to engage in
07:57 – What happens when you’re knocked off your game? How do you get back into your routine when your routine has been disrupted?
10:19 – When we talk about food, we’re not talking about same – we’re talking health & nutrition, and smaller, attainable goals.
14:14 – Dave Wein talks about how to find a diet that actually works for you
15:22 – Give yourself the ability to make good choices for yourself

  • 006: Your Eating & Exercise “WHY”
If you do the things you need to do, you’ll have time to do the things you want to do. And this week we’re focusing on diet and exercise. What we are putting into our bodies is important people! Are you paying attention to what you eat? Are you getting off that couch and doing some form of exercise? Dave Wein is and David isn’t – let’s discuss!!!!!
    Word of the Week: Discipline
This is the show about remaking our lives the way we want. We have a great Facebook group we are inviting our listeners to join. We aren’t experts, we’re going off expert advice and see if its worth its salt. This show isn’t for everybody, if for those of you who have a real determination to live the lives you want, not the one you necessarily have.
04:41 – Dave Wein is concerned about David’s eating habits
06:05 – Why we’re concerned about your eating habits and why it’s important and how you can change them
10:10 – Dave Wein has made nutrition a priority in his life for the last 7 months – this is what he’s learned, David G is more focused on being awareness of his crappy eating habits
12:34 – David G can’t seem to muster up his ability to begin his exercise routine
14:17 – Who is right? Dave who says you gotta exercise or David G who wants to gradually move in the right direction?
17:01 – Gratitude fuels your ability to change.
18:07 – How do you decide what to eat when you decide you want to eat healthy?

  • 002: Maximizing Your Morning Routine
What happens when you wake up each morning? What do you do? If you can’t answer those questions it means you don’t have a planned morning routine. And, as the saying goes, if you want to be successful you have to do what successful people do. And those folks plan their mornings. In this episode we share some tips and strategies on planning your morning. Hopefully these ideas connect with you and help you walk the path of the morning routine. David Wein and David Guggenheim also share their morning routines and also discuss the trials and tribulations they’ve experienced in executing their planned mornings.
We run down the 7 things Evan Carmichael of the Believe Nation suggest people do to get their morning routine off to the right start.
06:46 - Prepare the night before for the day you know is coming.
08:44 – Have a family moment in the midst of the morning bustle.
10:17 – Turn on some music and see if it doesn’t lighten your mood.
11:50 – Have some tasty lemon water to start your day.
12:55 – Get that morning workout in, get your exercise in and get your energy up.
16:03 – Remember why you are living in an intentional way
17:05 – Do a task that gives you energy, get in a quick win people!
We then share our morning routines that we’ve developed to inspire you to plan your mornings. Guggenheim shares his routine which includes getting up at 6am sharp each morning… we’ll see how that ends up in a follow-up episode. They aren’t all successes people!
25:12 – We help YOU begin to organize your day and craft a morning routine. Let us know if you adopt the morning routine idea. Is it working? Is it benefiting your day? Is a miserable failure – we want to know it all!
