Locked On Guardians - Daily Podcast On The Cleveland Guardians

Mike Clevinger is about to have his second Tommy John surgery, and while it is awful there was a collective exhale from Indians fans who realized the team was able to get value for Clevinger before he lost an entire season to injury. We revisit the trade the Indians made, talk about the first free agent signing, and give some time to appreciate the greatness if peak Grady Sizemore.

We discuss the major awards, and were the Indians players ended up. We talk about local ties with some of those nominated and we also talk about how the overall votes turned out. There was just one Met listed in the MVP race, a particular favorite of this podcast. We talk some history then return to the Orioles who we discussed earlier in the week and why they are a team to remember based on any Lindor deal

There has been a lot of Indians and Mets talk, so I took this chance to have Ryan Finkelstein of Locked On Mets join to talk about what is happening with the Mets. His personal view, some names to know, and possible trades that could make sense for both teams. Listen to hear a Mets fan take on Lindor and on possible out going talent.

We talk Astros, Athletics, and Orioles as we try and find a trade for the Indians. We discuss the relevant points from the big news of the day, the Mets news conference. I find one team who has a lot of potential pieces for the Indians, including a player who missed all of 2020. Listen in to find out who is a natural fit in terms of providing interesting bats for possible trades.

The Clevinger deal is complete and matt Waldron is now a Padre. We talk about why now, and why him. We talk about Rookie of the Years, Chicago's disaster, and Trevor Bauer. We talk a little Angels, and a lot of Rangers as we look for teams to trade with to help the Indians chances in 2021.

I finally give in and focus on a possible Lindor to the Yankees deal, as the majority of trade rumors involve him currently going to the Yankees. So i find a deal that makes sense, even though I am not sure sure that Yankee fans would agree as there is more name value then actual value to some players I mention. We also talk lineups, which show just how much is unproven and still up in the air for the Indians for next year. I mean the entire infield and outfield is a bit undefined. We know Jose and Franmil will be somewhere but not even sure where yet.

We talk about the news that broke today, not sure it counts as news but apparently Francisco Lindor will be traded before the seasons starts. I think it was well established. We talk bad and good rumors, which allow us to talk more Mets. Then we go through the deals and years to show not just how the colon deal has netted hundreds of victories for Cleveland but also how it is connected to the trade most like it the Chris Archer deal in recent years.

We continue our trek through the majors looking for teams that could have the parts and pieces to help out the Indians. We look at the Nationals, Phillies, and Mariners. The Mariners have been a trendy pick for a team, on the rise, but do they make sense for any trades with the Indians? Listen and find out.

We talk about the plans to change the minors even more, which will continue to hurt those minor league teams. We discuss the Gold Glove winners for the Indians, and then some 2007 and 2008 drafts due to Roberto Perez winning his second Gold Glove in a row. After this I bring about my crazy trade ideas, before settling on why the Braves are a good match for minor trades with the Indians.
