Every year my Way Too Early Mock was one of the top five articles I wrote in terms of hits, typically racking up a few hundred thousand over on 247 or Scout. I decided to take this piece and move it to the digital format. Here is a chance to get to know some names that could end up being Indians. The draft is part of the lifeblood of the Indians, so here is a chance to learn some names and maybe find some college or local players to watch as we get closer to the college baseball. Ok closer is relative, but I for one can't wait for it.

We continue to try and find ways for the Indians to improve their offense, trying to find a magic mix of cheap talent, depth from the other teams, and a squad whose needs match up with the Indians. We spend a lot of time on the Reds who matchup with the Indians in all three areas. We also talk Brewers and Pirates as we continue on the search to find players who might make the Indians a little less painful to watch next season at least in terms of the outfield which was historically awful this past season.

We talk some Indians history. then after a question from Locked On Cardinals Lucas Smith I look into what a deal with the Cardinals for Lindor could look like, and why such a deal could make sense. I go over to the Trade simulator page, and see a bunch of trades from Angels fans involving pitchers and Lindor to the Angels. So we switch gears and look at what a Lindor deal to the Angels could look like. This is likely to be a returning theme of the offseason. Tomorrow we will go back to finding just general trade partners for the Indians in the future.

We look at a question that missed the mailbag last night and use it as a reasoning to start going team by team trying to find a squad that might make sense for the Indians to engage in trade talks about adding outfield help. We are not looking to trade any Indian's player in particular just trying to find a team with depth at the Indians particular position of weakness.

On today's show we talk about history, take some mailbag questions, and then dive into the 2021 draft. I bring up five names to know, and why those players stuck out for me based on the Indians model and approach. There are three pitchers and two batters that we go into who these players to watch are and why they so well fit with what the Indians typically do on draft day.

Todays show coincides with the 100 year anniversary of the Indians first World Series win. This comes one day after the 72 year anniversary of the Indians last World Series win. We look at history including a trade that helped them win the 48 World Series. We also look at the Rays and how they are using the same model as the Indians but just doing it better right now.

This one goes longer than the pitchers even though there are less names. The Indians have a clear path of constant developmental failure which is highlighted by these prospects and players. The Indians issues with college bats, corner outfielders, and first baseman is something that has been plaguing this franchise for the last 20 plus years. Listen in and find out who made the list of bats and also including one of the players who has intrigued me more than any other player over the years due t o all the weird occurrences in his career.

We were asked about our Indians dream team, instead we look into the nightmare team. We look at all the top prospects who ended up disappointing fans and prognosticators over the last 30 years. We dig deep not looking at players who simply failed to live up to hype but instead finding those who failed to have any extended success or extended time in the majors in general. It took us so long wee are splitting it into pitchers and hitters, so listen tot he pitchers part today to hear about names forgotten and half remembered who were supposed to be stars or at least regulars for the Indians.
