Locked On Guardians - Daily Podcast On The Cleveland Guardians

We talk about the Indians game, and how a day after defending Cimber he really let us down. We talk about lineup construction and how good performances do not take away a bad lineup. We then dive into if this team is a lock for the postseason why don't they give more reps to young players to see what they might have. We talk a little post season as well. We also give thanks to both the good and bad reviews that have popped up on itunes.

The Indians did what I predicted and took two of three games, so we revisit the Brewers series. We talk about the strong performance against Brad Keller. I harp on bad front offices not doing enough to build for the future. We also dig into the mailbag, and discuss Franmil, Bieber, and Civalee among others.

We take a look at a Brewers team, who might be in the worst situation in all of baseball. They are a team that were battling historically bad numbers along with the worst minor league system in baseball. They have failed to develop several of their top prospects, and made a trade in the off-season that might have set the franchise back years. After this we dig into a fan question and try and figure out what the Indians will look like in the year 2024.

Tom Seaver was one of the greatest pitchers in the history of the game, and he passed away on Wednesday. So I tell the story about how the Indians had a 25% chance to land one of the greatest players of all time. We talk about the last two games, have fun with numbers, and then discuss what a deal to landing Starling Marte would have looked like and ask if people would have been willing to pay that price to get the outfielder everyone wanted.

We go a bit all over the place. We talk about the 2015 draft due to Matt Harvey and his performance. We dig into his weird history and talk about what has happened. We talk about the 2021 draft due to breaking news, and how it is cool where and when it will happen. it is also awful as we might never see another Mahoning Valley Scrappers game ever again. We find out who the player to be named later is, answer questions, and then talk about why the Indians might have been so motivated to move Clevinger now.

This podcast goes deep into all nine players on the move in the Mike Clevinger deal. Find out my thoughts on each and every player, and even who I think the player to be named later is. This podcast is extra long, as we give each player their due and explain why the Indians likely made this move, and why history shows us the quantity over one big name is always the way to go when it comes to trades.

This one goes long. We spend some time reviewing the Indians and the city of Cleveland in general in terms of its impact on integration and many firsts. the Indians only run of success before the 90s happened largely due to being one of the first American League teams to integrate. Then we talk about league news involving trades and preview the Cardinals. They might be the rare team whose offense has struggled more this year than Cleveland's.

This time I loaded the correct file, I apologize for the mishap last week but no one pointed it out until a week later.

This is the promised interview with my father from early July. After his stroke in March, I had been afraid that this would not even be possible but less than three months later we sit down and I get to pick his brain about baseball. We go all over talking about the game that he got me hooked on as a young one

We talk about Clevinger's return for the Indians, before diving into some recent trade rumors about the Blue Jays and the Indians. We talk about who the Indians might like, and digress through some stories that were at least fun for me to look into. We then talk about the last two days, and what has stood out which moves were the smart ones and which ones were incredibly dumb.
