Locked On Guardians - Daily Podcast On The Cleveland Guardians

We go digging to find a team that would be willing to trade high value prospects, has players who can help right now, and who might also be looking at a two year window to win it all. In the end we do find a match off the beaten track of a team that could make sense for the Indians to trade with especially at the deadline this year. We got into the rational, into why there is still issues, and try and put together a deal that might make sense for a paper of teams that would still be hoping to make the playoffs.

We start out talking why Lindor to the Dodgers is not going to happen, and why any talk on Clevinger is very dumb. We talk about the free agent news of the day, and explain why even though the Twins added a pair of arms why it actually helps out the Indians chances. We talk about the barren pitching market and explain why it is the Indians could still end up the division favorites before the season begins with just a little more Free Agency action.

We talk about the Indians 40 man move. We then go into FA again and talk about the sudden run on mid tier Outfielders and why the Indians best route now is a reunion with an old friend. The Indians simply must add an outfielder if not two if one is being honest and there is just not much left for the Indians after this past week.

The Indians sign the player I have been pushing for on this podcast for weeks in Cesar Hernandez. The Indians have now improved in every facet of the game while paying significantly less than Kipnis cost a year ago. This should just be the begining of the Indians additions via free agency.

We look at some of the recent signings and discuss the very much picked over free agent market. I vent a bit about the talk that the Indians might cut payroll again. We end with why any talk of a Clevinger trade is bunk, before looking at why Lindor the Reds does make legitimate sense.

This podcast was recorded on Tuesday evening, but it slipped my mind to upload it for nearly 24 hours. So here is the pod a day late, but all of the information is still unchanged. The only FA of note coming off the market since then is Eric Sogard, so sit back and enjoy this blast from the recent past.

We talk more about the Kluber trade, and some of the rumors that came out afterwards. We discuss the past few offseasons, and why the Indians now have to do something. I play the GM and point out the path I would take with the Indians current money situation to add talent and keep the Indians window open for the next few years.

I started this podcast to talking about the Kluber rumors. In the end I decided to keep that part in. It will be funny to hear, and interesting as I discuss all the talk. Before I could get to my Rangers take, at the five minute market my fitness tracker vibrates because Kluber has been traded. We go over the deal, who is in it, and why. We discuss how Kluber is one of the five best pitchers in team history. Then we talk about where the Indians finances are at this point going forward. There is a lot to talk about, and a lot to dive into. So much we will likely be talking about it all week long.

We talk about the Rendon signing, and how things look post winter meetings. We talk about the Lindor, Kluber, and Clevinger rumors. We see what ones make sense. We spend some time on the Rule 5 draft, who the Indians lost and who they added. It has been a crazy week, so take some time to sit back and relax I mean it is what the Indians front office has been doing anyway. I kid.

Supersized edition as we talk Angels and Indians. Dodgers and Indians. All the free agent signings, and how the Indians could end up being players in free agency after it is all said and done. I try and figure out what deal might work between the Angels and Indians. A deal that fans of both sides on twitter either love or hate. Listen in and decide for yourself
