Ryan opens up today's show discussing the MLB rule changes taking place in 2023, and how they could affect the Natsd and the entire league as a whole. Is this an ultimate good thing for baseball moving forward? Plus, it's time to look ahead to 2023 and discuss the possibilities that Davey Martinez has going forward. Is he on a hot seat, or a cool throne going into 2023? Also, what does he need to do differently to improve this staff in 2023? Then there have been some rumors circling that the Angels COULD trade former top prospect Jo Adell, and a lot of Nats fans would be intrigued with that. What would it take to land the former top 10 pick in the 2017 draft? Ryan discusses how that could look for the Nats moving forward.

Yesterday, the Los Angeles Angels owner put out a statement stating that they will NOT be selling their team. What does this mean for the Washington Nationals sale? Well, ultimately it can't hurt us at this point and Ryan tells you why. There's a storyline heading into Spring Training this year that not a lot of people are discussing. What will unfold at 3B with 3 guys who could be battling for an Opening Day start? You have former 1st round pick & top prospect Carter Kieboom who could make a big splurge into the Majors. Then there's Jeimer Candleario who was one of our free agent acquisitions from this year. Then there's prospect Jake Alu who has the numbers in the minors to take a jump into the Majors, but will they give him that shot? Ryan explains that dilemma here, and ultimately tells you what he thinks should happen.

Someone asked Ryan the other day, if you were GM of the Washington Nationals, what would your first big decision be? Well, where's the button where you hit "that was easy" cause Ryan thought of his first move immediately. We will extend CJ Abrams today, and make him the best contract offer and work tirelessly until we come up with a deal. The Nationals have a problem retaining talent, so it's time to keep the future here in the Nation's Capital. There's one hiccup with that thought... How could ownership affect this stance in signing free agents or even extending guys on the roster? Ryan dives into the different ways this ownership fiasco has held up the Nats in signing free agents, and how this could also resolve itself in the long run. Lastly, a big named baseball media member named Joey Meneses as a "very good" 1B, so Ryan has to give Meneses his roses here.

Baseball America released it's top 100 MLB prospects heading into 2023, and the Washington Nationals have FOUR on the list. That list includes OF James Wood, OF Robert Hassell III, OF Elijah Green, and RHP Cade Cavalli. Ryan goes in depth on all 4 of those marquee prospects for the Nationals. He also describes how trading away superstar Juan Soto helped the Nationals get into this position as far as replenishing the farm system goes. Was it much needed after all seeing the prospect rankings? Then, there were 3 other prospects that were knocking on the door for being in the top 100 as well, so Ryan gets into those guys and when they could be in this list. Lastly, we end on the future of Brady House as he dropped out of the top 100 after being the prized possession prospect for the Nats just this time last year.

The Nationals wrapped up their international signing class by inking Juan Soto's brother, Elian Soto, to a deal to be a Washington National. Could this lure Juan Soto to be a National again one day? Then, we discuss what Elian could bring to the table as a prospect. We also move on to the rest of the international signing class as the Nats spread their money around and spent on 14 different international free agents that & you hear about the marquee signing today. Baseball America came up with a list of MLB Prospect news, and the Nationals were ranked as the youngest core of top 10 MLB prospects and Ryan discusses what this means for the future of the Nats, and why this is a GOOD thing. Lastly, Ryan ends the show on two back-end prospects you shouldn't sleep on moving forward.

There was a report this week from TalkNats that the Nationals will likely not be selling the franchise as of right now, for who knows what reason. Ryan discusses this report, which was also confirmed by Barry Svrluga & Chelsea Janes in the Washington Post this week. What absolute mess could be unfolding behind the scenes? Then, Ryan takes out his magic 8 ball and starts to predict the future of this ownership mess. What could happen, and if they do sell a minority share, who would it be to? Lastly, Ryan ends on discussing the positive momentum the Nats have had in developing their player development process by spending on analytical roles to fulfil a HUGE need in the organization.

On today's Locked On Nationals, Ryan Clary is joined by Danny Nokes, host over on the Washington Nationals Flagship station 106.7 The Fan. Ryan & Danny discuss the Nationals signing LF Corey Dickerson and get into the role that he could play in the Nation's Capital. But also, we discuss the offseason as a whole with our minds set on one question in particular; how has the current ownership situation affected this offseason? We then go on over to the pitching side of the Nationals, Ryan & Danny are both optimistic when it comes to the Nationals pitching staff and they both are high on one particular pitcher; Mackenzie Gore. With [pitching, Stephen Strasburg is a name everyone knows and loves in this town, but there's also a big question mark on the future of him and what he can provide for the Nats moving forward.

The Washington Nationals made another move for a left handed bat, and signed LF Corey Dickerson to a one year deal in hopes to turn his career around with the Nationals. Dickerson has been a All-Star & a Gold Glove winner at LF and has had years where the power has been there for his bat. After a few tough seasons, he signs with the Nats to hopefully bounce back. What are some reasonable expectations for the former All-Star left fielder? There's also another current Washington National with big upside in Ryan's mind that we don't get to talk about enough, and that's 2B Luis Garcia. What is his ceiling with the Nationals? He plays a semi-solid 2B, and is ultimately known for what he can da at the plate. What's his ceiling heading into 2023? Lastly, our prized possession Joey Meneses will have a big role with this team, where does he fit in that aspect?

The Washington Nationals made a move yesterday signing former New York Mets 1st round pick, Dominic Smith, to a one year deal to fill the void of LF/1B. The Nats needed a lefty bat, and they can now check that box off as well. This may not be a sexy move, but Ryan explains why it could be a good, if not GREAT move for the rebuilding Washington Nationals. Also, Ryan flips the page tom look at the 2023 season. He takes a look at two guys who need to take the biggest steps up this year in order for the Nats to be on track when it comes to this rebuild. Ryan then ends the show discussing who the Nationals will take #2 overall in the MLB Draft this July, as it is clear & evident who they will be eyeing in the draft.
