People with disabilities face a number of barriers in the labor market — from unconscious biases to literal barriers to workplaces. As a result, the unemployment rate among people with disabilities was more than twice as high as those without one — 7.6% and 3.5%, respectively.

Mark Raymond Jr., founder of the Split Second Foundation, helps people become aware of the needs of the community. He chats with LinkedIn News Editor Andrew Seaman on the latest episode of Get Hired to explain the barriers people with disabilities face while looking for work. The two also discuss what employers can do to break down those obstacles and what people can do to overcome them.
