The holiday season can bring a mix of emotions—joy and connection for some, but for others, grief and sadness can be overwhelming.  For many, the holidays serve as a powerful reminder of loss and can trigger deep emotions.

In this heartfelt episode, we are joined by Queen J, also known as Joi Britt, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and owner of Life Intentionally Psychotherapy Services.  Queen J, based in the Bronx, NY, works primarily with women of color, addressing issues like anxiety, relationship challenges, family dynamics and workplace trauma.   She is also the host of The Joi of Social Work Podcast, where she shares her journey of healing after loss and highlights the importance of mental health in Communities of Color.

Together, we discuss the complexities of navigating grief during the holidays, the impact of loss on mental health and strategies for self-care and emotional wellness.  Whether you are a social worker supporting clients through tough times or someone personally experiencing holiday grief, this episode offers valuable insights and tools to make the season a little lighter.
