Luke De Laeter (I: @Buzz_ed_Australia) is a qualified beekeeper who is sharing his passion of bees and biodiversity. In 2020, he was lucky enough to win the Beazley Medal VET and the Australian Meeting of Young Beekeepers.

Luke's goal is to share his knowledge and inspire others - he believes that bee education is essential for understanding the important link between bees and our sustainable future. He wants to encourage the next generation to consider beekeeping as a career pathway.

His bee obsession began when he was given a small hive for his 14th birthday. With an oversupply of honey, and requests to speak to children about his passion, he set up his business, Luke’s Bees. This allowed him to sell honey and present “Bee Incursions” to schools, festivals and community groups. Over the last four years, he has shared his passion in over 100 locations to more than 10,000 children, teenagers and adults. In 2021, he relaunched his business as Buzz Ed Australia to include an online incursion program.
