A pretty special episode to round out 2021.

What happens when, after years of hard work and dedication, your goal of competing at an Olympic Games or winning a gold medal don’t come to pass? What happens when you fall achingly short of that dream? And not only that, how do you navigate your partner achieving everything you hoped to do in your sport?

My husband Luke was forced to navigate all of these challenges through our relationship and his swimming career.

I really wanted to share Luke’s experiences because I’ve seen firsthand how difficult this was for him (though I probably have only now appreciated just how hard it was for him through this chat - basically a counselling session ) but I’ve also seen what he’s been able to translate those experiences into, in his career after sport. I have no doubt that one of the main reasons he’s become as successful as he has, is because he didn’t reach the levels he wanted to in swimming but has been able to apply everything he learnt from sport.

Look, I’m not going to lie. I loved this chat, I think he’s a pretty special guy (I know I’m biased!) and I hope you enjoy too!
