Lynn's History: A Purposeful Path

Listen Later

For those who have been in pelvic health for years, do you ever look back at where your journey started? Do you think about your impact? For those just starting off, do you ever wonder where your journey will lead?

In today’s episode, Lynn shares her history of becoming a pelvic health physical therapist. What started as a love of athletics and a desire to help others has resulted in a lifetime of passion and purpose. In her 30+ years as a PT, Lynn has worked with tens of thousands of women to support their health and recovery in clinical sessions and has helped educate thousands of pelvic health practitioners through the foundation of the Institute for Birth Healing.

Lynn grew up in St. Louis, Missouri with parents who supported her athletic abilities. She played soccer, basketball and tennis growing up. Her mom was in the medical field which cultivated Lynn’s desire to help others. When she learned a bit about physical therapy, she thought this could be a great way to combine athletics and medicine and decided to pursue a degree in PT with the thoughts of going into sports medicine.

Her journey has taken her into multiple settings, but starting her own practice focusing on pelvic health, specifically with pregnant and postpartum women, has been an amazing pathway for her to share this work.

Lynn is a mom of 2 boys who have both graduated from college. She practices the Eckencar faith which has helped her tune into the body and find the different patterns she teaches in her courses. She loves teaching and will be traveling in 2025 to teach courses across the USA and Australia.
