Mad Times With Madison

Welcome back to one shot, where we don't drag out the story, and you get to listen to a whole case in one shot!

Dena Schlosser and her husband John met in college, and fell in love. They got married, had children, and were heavily involved in a cult like church. Dena had been exhibiting warning signs that she had something wrong with her, however the church relied heavily on the idea that demons were to blame for mental illnesses. With no access to her medication, and postpartum hormones, Dena was set up to fail. In 2004 Dena did something horrific, but is she truly to blame? What do you guys think?

The movie Bully came out in 2001, adapted from the book of the same name in published 1998, and is based off this insane true story. Bobby Kent and Marty Puccio were best friends in the 90's, and the relationship was more hate/hate than love/hate. Bobby bullied Marty extensively, beating him physically and gas lighting him when he finally would say something. In 1993 things finally reach a volatile end. Did you see that coming?

This week Taryn tells us the story of the watcher house. In 2014 the Broaddus family bought a New Jersey home for 1.3 million dollars. Almost immediately they start getting letters that makes it clear someone is watching them. But this is not your average stalker, and they are not the first people to get these letters. What hell do you think is happening here?

Thanks Ashleigh for your help this week!

Daniel LaPlante was born in 1970 in Townsend, Massachusetts. After a terrible childhood, Daniel turned into a monster. He would break into peoples homes and steal small items. Then he craved more, and he would start leaving items behind, and moving things, just to mess with the family who lived there. In 1987 Danny crosses the line from petty thief to actual monster. However, in 1986, something else sinister happens in Townsend Massachusetts. What did you think of this??

*sword and scale did a deep dive into the Andrews home portion of this crime, questioning its legitimacy, and claiming it is an exaggeration of a different scene of his life. I did not see these claims until after we recorded. Everything I read and everything that popped up were all steered toward this being the truth, if that is not the case I apologize! I hope you enjoy it regardless!*

Lori Erica Kennedy met Blake Ruff at a bible study class in Dallas and they clicked instantly. The two courted, eloped, and then moved away and had a daughter. Lori, who was already kind of a recluse, started acting very erratically. She was alienating Blake's family and becoming extremely protective of their daughter, not letting her out of her sight ever. When Blake finally couldn't continue with the marriage things take a shocking and tragic turn. Please let us know what you thought of this case! It really took us by surprise.

This week, in a raw unedited episode (because we didnt record until 5 hours before it was uploaded, Taryn tells us about the woman currently on death row due to be executed next week. Lisa Montgomery, using the name Darlene Fisher, was looking to purchase a dog. She found a breeder and began chatting with her and found out she was pregnant. Then a more sinister plan entered her brain. Lisa is set to be executed next week (January 12, 2021), and has had that date upheld as of 2 hours before we recorded. What drove her to do this? And why are some people petitioning for her death sentence to be commuted? Listen to find out and tell us what you think!

Welcome back! We missed you last week. This week Caitlyn joins us, you may recognize her from The Unicorn Killer One Shot. In march of 2011 a manager goes to open the Bethesda Lululemon store and encounters a traumatizing scene. Jayna Murray, bloodied, beaten, and dead in the back room. Brittany Norwood, tied up in the bathroom, a slit in the crotch of her pants, moaning in pain. Merchandise strewn everywhere. Brittany retells the story of the evening before when two masked men followed them in after closing when they returned to get a wallet, and attacked them all night. However, the police think something far more sinister may have happened.
