Alex Varner is an accomplished distance runner. In April he completed his first 50 mile race, Lake Sonoma 50 miler, where he came in fourth place and earning a birth in the Western States 100 Endurance Run. After just 2 1/2 months of training, he competed in his first 100 mile race finishing an impressive 7th place.
