Wait, you can't let another competitor see what you're up to, right!? What if they "steal your idea"? What if they post the same thing you do, and they end up getting a client who would have been your client?

Absurdity. Absolutely wrong. This way of thinking os so backwards, but it's also very common amongst Realtors. Hell, I thought this way for years before I learned the way the world actually works :)

Happy Thanksgiving! Let's be honest. Real estate agents are spoiled. We have things so good, it's easy to take certain things for granted... like the internet! But when you take things for granted, often times we can slip into negativity or pessimism. Not on my watch!

This week, for our Thanksgiving Edition we're focusing on all the awesome things we have to be grateful for as Realtors. We truly have one of the best jobs out there, but if the negativity and pessimism of our fellow agents on social media is indication, we need a good reminder of all that we should be grateful for. 

I put together a list of 10 things that Realtors should be grateful for, but by no means does it include everything. Hopefully this episode helps you gain a new or refreshed perspective on just how spoiled we are as real estate agents.

1. Flexibility of schedule
2. The Internet
3. WE control our success and failure 
4. Endless technology tools

7. Agents will ALWAYS be needed

10. Marketing and Lead Generation ability is the only real difference between struggling solo agent and highest producing teams

There are so many misconceptions among real estate agents about VA loans. Realtors, for the most part, lack the facts on how VA loans work, and far too often look down on buyers using VA loans because of these misconceptions.

Our military veterans are being mistreated on the mortgage side, and then again when they start making offers to purchase homes.

The purpose of this episode is twofold: 1) Educate Realtors about the ways that our veterans are being mistreated, overcharged, and discriminated against in the real estate and mortgage industry and 2) teach you how you can actually sell a bunch more homes each year by focusing more on serving our veterans.

This week, Chris Griffith, prominent mortgage broker and founder of Vetted VA, joins us to shine some light on why real estate agents have it all wrong about VA loans, and how veterans are actually being screwed by supposed "veteran-friendly" lenders.

This week you'll learn why it's never a good idea to use the Boost Post button on Facebook. I'll walk you through the importance of choosing the correct Objective right from the start of a campaign, and the best way to accomplish your goals via Facebook ads.

Think of Boost Post more like a Donate button, where you're basically just donating your money to Facebook. If you want to advertise on Facebook, and actually get results, then you need to do it a different way. But it starts with understanding how the Boost Post button works.

Not sure about you, but I'm guilty of using the little blue Boost Post button. We all are at some point. We heard that Facebook ads are great for real estate agents, and that all it took was running one Facebook Ad and you'll get 27 real estate leads by tonight, and close half of them by next week. Yes? LOL

Facebook Ads work great... IF you do them right. That means using the Ads manager and intentionally creating ads that do exactly what you want them to do, while reaching the audience you want them to reach. "Boosting" a post won't do any of that.

We spend so much time talking about real estate marketing tactics so that we can get the attention of the consumer. Without their attention, nothing else matters. We need to get their attention so they can listen to what we're saying or watch what we want to show them. Marketing for attention is critical, but it's not the whole story.

Once Realtors have their attention, they need to KEEP it. The way we do that is by having substance. Showing and demonstrating that we really are the expert or resource that we claim to be. Do we REALLY know what we're talking about as Realtors? Are we skilled at our profession.

Having the best marketing campaign or ad doesn't mean much if we get a ton of people to stop their scrolling and listen to us, only to decide that we are shallow. That we don't have a whole lot of expertise or experience doing what we're talking about. Do you claim to be a real estate agent who is an expert on your town?

Great. But can you back that up? Are you truly an expert? Will the consumer FEEL that you're the expert they thought you were? This week you'll learn some tips for building your credibility and "substance" as a real estate agent.
