One of the best Ironman triathletes in the world spends his time outside of triathlon training to become a surgeon. Matthew Marquardt caught the attention of Chasing the Burn this spring when he traveled from Ohio to South Africa and back... twice! within a few weeks to participate in the iconic Cape Epic mountain bike stage race and eventually become the champion of Ironman South Africa. He generously gives a rare free hour of his day to chat time management, having a purpose and being a resource for sport related science in an age where we have more information than we could ever know how to process.
