Working within the Harm Reduction approach, Mark Haden (Director of Research @ PsyGen, Professor of Public Health @ UBC, and Former Executive Director of MAPS Canada) discusses his book “Manual for Psychedelic Guides.” Mark’s insights are also applicable to MDMA-Assisted Therapy and other Psychedelic-Assisted Therapies.
Scott Bernstein, a drug policy and human rights lawyer and the Executive Director of MAPS Canada, discusses the January 5, 2022 news-making amendment to Canadian drug laws that has direct implications for access to MDMA Assisted Therapy. Is this big news or not? What does the amendment mean? Who might be eligible for MDMA-Assisted Therapy? Is Canada leading the world? And what is the next step in the process of making MDMA-Assisted Therapy available to Canadians in need?
What a great chat with Dr. Andrea Jungaberle, the co-founder of Berlin’s MIND Foundation, one of the largest European psychedelic-assisted therapy thinktanks. With her very thoughtful and cautionary approach, Andrea talks about the ethics of disruptive therapies such as MDMA Therapy, the dangers implicit in forming strong and speedy connections, the special responsibilities of training organizations and therapists in MDMA therapy, the need for constraint and de-acceleration in the field, and issues related to training, regulation, access, and of course the future of life on earth. Andrea also talks about MIND’s programming, including their Drug Science Program, reportedly the most comprehensive psychedelic drug science program in the known universe, and of course the spectacular INSIGHT 2021 conference which is just about to begin (September 5-9) and is not to be missed – discounted online tickets @ https://insight-conference.eu/tickets/
The Multidisciplinary Association for Psychedelic Studies (MAPS) has just launched the world’s first and much anticipated MDMA-Assisted Therapy Training Program. Their first 14-week training session has enrolled over 300 therapists, which is an unprecedented number when it comes to a new psychotherapy that is currently only in the process of being legalized by the FDA, Health Canada, etc. Our guest Shannon Carlin is the Chief of Therapy Training at the MAPS Public Benefit Corporation, and we had an amazing talk about the MAPS training program, MDMA Therapy, organizational integrity, love, and healing.
New York psychologist Ingmar Gorman, one of the principal investigators on FDA approval research for MDMA-Assisted Therapy, discusses recent results from a pivotal study that some argue might revolutionize the future of mental health and well being.
It seems that the times, indeed, they are achanging. The counter-culture love drug MDMA not only made it to the FDA approval process, but the results so far are again staggering. And this is not just hippies getting excited about love taking over the world. We are talking about numbers, and numbers are what Ingmar talks about.
In this exciting conversation, Ingmar discusses the study results, the controversies, the ethics, the future, and his personal experience with MDMA Therapy.
In this episode, Lori describes how MDMA-Assisted Therapy helped her heal trauma. Lori is awash in gratitude and clarity of rare proportions. This is a powerful personal testimony that is bound to open your heart.
Gül describes recent ground-breaking neuroscientific discoveries that explain how MDMA-Assisted Therapy might heal relationships. Gül might have found a key that can reopen, in an adult, the juvenile critical window for social bonding. I believe this to be the most important recent theoretical development in the field of MDMA-Assisted Therapy.
Gül is a neuroscientist and Johns Hopkins. She published in two most prestigious academic journals (Nature and Science). This whole podcast is packed with great ideas worth knowing and propagating.
