  • Someone With Less Is Doing More (So No Excuses) - EP 214

In today's episode, I'm not here to sugarcoat it—I'm here to talk about attitude. Not the snarky kind you throw around when things go sideways, but the deep, quiet kind that seeps into your mindset when life feels unfair. I've had those moments—when everything feels heavy, progress feels impossible, and I want to give up. But I've come to realize something: someone out there, with far fewer resources and much bigger obstacles, is outworking me. And outworking you.

This episode is a wake-up call. I share stories of people fighting cancer while raising kids and running businesses, of people living in war zones still chasing their dreams, of men and women who have every reason to quit—but don't. I talk about my own experience on Mount Kilimanjaro, where I was weak, sick, and struggling—and it was the local guides, with next to nothing, who carried me through. These people have grit. They have perspective. And they prove that effort doesn't require privilege—just character.

If you've been stuck in self-pity, waiting for the perfect time, or blaming your circumstances, this one's for you. It's time to stop whining, stop comparing, and start owning everything you've been given. Because greatness isn't about having more—it's about doing more with less. So ask yourself: are you really doing everything you can with what you've got? If not, let's fix that. No excuses. Ever.

Welcome to The Spinoso Podcast hosted by CEO, doctor, comic book geek, and car guy, Alex Spinoso. I help people and companies grow - especially in the medical business. While my experience and expertise is in scaling all types of medical businesses to 7, 8, 9-figures or more, I can be a mentor to anyone who wants to take ownership of their lives, become a better leader at home and at work, and overcome any obstacle that stands in their way.

  • The Law Of Reciprocity In Business And Life - EP 213

In this episode of the Spinoso Podcast, I dive deep into the Law of Reciprocity—what it is, how it shows up in life and business, and the mindset shifts required to keep your heart open even when the world doesn't always give back. I share stories from my own entrepreneurial journey, how I've been burned, how I've given too much, and how I've learned to keep giving anyway—without expecting anything in return. My co-host Amanda joins me for a real, raw conversation about how generosity and boundaries coexist, and how we keep going even when the ROI isn't immediate or obvious.

We talk about the hard truth that being a business owner—or a parent—isn't always rewarding in the moment. You give time, energy, love, money, resources… and sometimes people leave, fail to appreciate it, or never change. But we also explore the deeper fulfillment that comes from playing the long game, staying true to who you are, and letting karma—or energy, or flow—handle the rest. Whether it's building a team, raising kids, or dealing with clients, reciprocity isn't a formula. And that's why you have to give because it's who you are, not because you're trying to get something back.

If you've ever been tempted to stop giving because you feel drained or taken advantage of, this episode is your reset. Amanda and I break down how to stay generous without becoming resentful, how to lead without being soft, and how to build a life and business that reflect who you truly are. It's not always easy—but if you stay open, aligned, and unattached to the outcome, the right people, opportunities, and results eventually show up.

  • Keep Your Word: The Foundation Of Trust & Confidence - EP 212

This week, I want to talk about a simple but powerful reminder I saw in an Instagram post from my buddy Jacob. He said, "If you want to work with elite people and be their go-to, it's not that complicated—just do what you say you're going to do." And he's absolutely right. When you say you'll deliver something by Friday at 1 PM, deliver it by Friday at 1 PM. Not later. Not the next morning. Elite performers don't have time to chase people or babysit broken promises. Their world is a tight system of responsibilities and decisions that depend on momentum—and when you miss your deadline, you don't just slow yourself down, you stall their entire machine.

That one post got me thinking even deeper about where trust really begins—not just trust from others, but trust in yourself. The truth is, real confidence doesn't come from recognition or praise. It comes from following through on the promises you make to yourself. When you say you're going to hit the gym, make the call, solve the problem—and you actually do it—that's when self-belief grows. It's not about hype, it's about consistency. The more you keep your word to yourself, the more you trust your own ability to handle what life throws at you.

So yes, be the person others can count on. Keep your word to your clients, your team, your mentors. But if you really want to level up—if you want to lead, to build, to win—you've got to start with yourself. Your integrity with yourself is your foundation. Without it, nothing else holds. And with it? You become unstoppable.

  • Benefits Of Kids For Entrepreneurs - EP 211

In this episode, Amanda and I dive into the unexpected ways that parenting shapes leadership. From toddler meltdowns to team dynamics, we've realized how much raising kids mirrors building and managing a business. Whether it's communicating clearly, creating structure, or learning how to stay patient while being pulled in ten directions, kids have a way of teaching you what kind of leader you really are—and what kind of leader your people need you to be.

We talk about the emotional intelligence that parenting builds, the importance of presence, and the power of spending quality time with both your family and your team. Just like our kids, our staff need structure, support, and someone who shows up for them consistently. We share stories from our own families—both the funny and the messy—that have influenced how we lead at Genesis and how we think about legacy, loyalty, and culture inside our business.

Ultimately, this conversation is about redefining success. Not just through revenue or accolades, but through the relationships we build—at home and at work. Fatherhood and motherhood have forced us to look at the long game, to think generationally, and to consider how our leadership impacts not just the people in the room today, but the future we're building for them. If you're a parent, a leader, or both, this one's going to hit home.

  • Lessons In Honesty From A Fried Lambo - EP 210

Today, I'm sharing a story about my brand-new Lamborghini Revuelto and how a small mistake turned into a massive lesson in trust, leadership, and communication. I took the car to a trusted shop for some paint protection film, and while it sat there, the battery died. No big deal, right? But instead of calling me or Lamborghini, they tried to fix it themselves… and jumped it using the wrong port. What followed was a series of bad decisions, a fried battery system, and worst of all, no one told me the truth until I found out the hard way.

This wasn't just a car issue; it was a communication breakdown. I don't think they were trying to be shady. I think they were trying to protect me from bad news. But in doing so, they made the situation worse and broke trust. And that's the point. If you work with high-level people, honesty and speed matter more than perfection. Mistakes won't get you fired. Covering them up will. Leaders can't fix what they don't know. And when you wait too long to speak up, that silence becomes more damaging than the problem itself.

If you're a leader, listen closely: you train your team with your reactions. If your people are afraid to be honest, you've trained them to lie. That's not leadership, it's fear. On the other hand, when someone brings you a problem and a plan, and you respond with calmness and support, that's how you build loyalty and a strong culture. The test of any team or business isn't whether people make mistakes, it's whether they trust you enough to tell you when they do. Honesty might be expensive, but dishonesty will cost you everything.

  • The Dark Side Of Ambition (PART 2) - EP 209

Ambition is essential if you want to build something that lasts. It's what drives legacy, growth, and impact—but if you're not careful, it can also destroy your health, relationships, and identity. In this episode, we're talking about the double-edged sword of ambition. We're pulling back the curtain on what happens when you let the hustle take over your life, and sharing real stories about burnout, identity loss, and the price we've paid trying to chase more, do more, and be more. This isn't about quitting ambition—it's about managing it, so it doesn't manage you.

We also dive into how we keep our ambition in check with habits that ground us—whether that's working out, spending intentional time with our kids, or unplugging to recharge. We talk about how our ambition has evolved over time and how our definitions of success have shifted. It's not just about being busy anymore—it's about being effective. And we reflect on the identity traps that come when your worth is tied too closely to what you achieve, instead of who you are becoming in the process.

This episode is for every entrepreneur who's felt like ambition is both the engine and the enemy. We're here to say: it doesn't have to be that way. Ambition, when aligned with purpose, can fuel you instead of drain you. But only if you build the right systems, habits, and self-awareness around it.

  • The Lamborghini Lesson - EP 208

As a kid, I was obsessed with cars, monster trucks, hot rods, supercars, all of it. I told my dad I wanted to be a mechanic one day, and he gave me a perspective I never forgot. He told me there was honor in that path, real, honest work—but then he asked me something that changed everything: "Do you want cars to be your livelihood… or your hobby?" That question shifted my entire trajectory. Fast forward to today, and I finally bought my dream car, a blue Aegir Pearl Lamborghini. Not leased. Not borrowed. Custom-built, piece by piece. And as it rolled off the truck, it wasn't just a car; it was a childhood dream fulfilled.

But here's what most people don't expect: that feeling didn't last. And it wasn't supposed to. For high performers, the goal isn't the thing. The goal is growth. That car was emotional, rewarding, and meaningful, but I celebrated, took it in, and then asked myself, "What's next?" The dream got checked off, so the bar moved. Not because I'm ungrateful, but because I'm still breathing. Still building. Still capable of more. Real entrepreneurs don't stop once they've "made it." They keep leveling up, again and again.

So, whether you're chasing your first six-figure month, your dream home, or your own supercar, hit the goal, and then raise the bar. Because our purpose isn't to achieve one dream and stop, it's to become the kind of person who keeps dreaming, keeps evolving, and keeps doing the work to become worthy of what's next. This episode is about the real payoff of achieving your goals and why the best thing you can do after hitting one is to go build the next.

  • The Dark Side of Ambition -EP 207

In this episode, we're pulling back the curtain on something that doesn't make the highlight reel: the dark side of ambition. Ambition is often praised and glorified; it drives success, fuels late nights, and builds empires. But what people don't talk about is the cost. That relentless drive can leave you physically wrecked, emotionally burned out, and disconnected from the very people you're building everything for. I've lived it. I've sacrificed health, relationships, and even my own peace chasing goals that, in hindsight, didn't always matter.

We get real about how unchecked ambition can show up in the day-to-day snapping at your team during a wedding, staying up all night chasing numbers, or needing to "win" so badly that you forget to ask yourself what you're even chasing. Amanda and I open up about what it's taken from us, what it's taught us, and how we're learning to balance the hustle with compassion for others and ourselves. We talk about being more present, how we each try to connect with our partners and kids, and the habits we're building to protect our mental and physical health.

Because the truth is, building something great shouldn't mean burning out in the process. Ambition isn't the enemy, but blind ambition is. This episode is for every entrepreneur, leader, or creator who's ever pushed themselves to the edge in the name of success. If you've ever felt addicted to achievement or stuck in constant go-mode, this one's for you. Let's talk about how to stay driven without driving yourself into the ground.

  • Caring: The Curse and The Key - EP 206

One of the biggest mental blocks I see in entrepreneurs, especially early on, is around pricing. We hesitate to charge what we're really worth, not because the market won't bear it, but because we're still thinking like our old selves. I've been there too. Most of us come from backgrounds where money was tight, and when it comes time to price our services, we imagine what we could've afforded years ago. But here's the truth: you're not your customer, and your old financial situation should have nothing to do with your current pricing strategy.

In this episode, I talk about how pricing should be rooted in the real value you provide, not your emotional hang-ups. I break down how to assess the market, evaluate your skill level, and understand where you stand compared to your competitors. If others in your space are charging $1,000 and you know you bring more to the table, then you should charge more. On the flip side, if you're still gaining traction or experience, price accordingly, but do it based on facts, not feelings.

You have to take your own wallet out of the equation. Stop undercharging out of guilt. Stop projecting your past onto your current clients. They didn't come to you because you were the cheapest; they came because they believe you can help them. Your job is to deliver and price accordingly. Let's talk about how to shift your mindset, reclaim your value, and charge like the expert you are.

  • Leadership Sucks Sometimes: 5 Truths You Just Have To Accept - EP 204

Today, we're diving deep into the realities of leadership, what it looks like behind the curtain, after the motivational quotes and Instagram highlights. Before we get into it, I share a quick story about planning a birthday party for my one-year-old that went from low-key to full-on Project X with mechanical bulls, robot dancers, and mariachi bands. It's a hilarious reminder that sometimes, leadership at home can mirror leadership in business plans, and plans can grow quickly; if you're not careful, things can spiral out of control. However, the key takeaway is that leadership is about managing chaos, whether it's a birthday party or a company.

In business, leadership isn't all TED Talks and latte meetings. It's adult daycare with payroll. It's putting out fires, repeating yourself endlessly, getting ghosted by employees, and sometimes even getting sued by clients. It's being the last to rest, the first to take responsibility, and the one who carries the weight when everyone else walks away. We talk about building resilient systems, maintaining emotional control, and how the things that used to shake you five years ago barely faze you now. That's growth, but it doesn't come easy, and it sure as hell doesn't come fast.

This episode gets real about firing people you care about, dealing with betrayal, navigating lawsuits, and staying focused when leadership feels unfair. I also share the importance of mentorship, the emotional toll on women in leadership, and how to keep your head in the game when everything feels personal. Whether you're leading a med spa, building a startup, or just trying to keep your business from burning down, this conversation will help you breathe through the chaos, harden your knuckles, and remember why you started. Leadership is hard, but if you're built for it, it's always worth it.
