Michael Oher On “The Blind Side,” Remaining Optimistic During Adversity & Overcoming The Victim Mentality

Listen Later

Michael Oher is a former American football offensive tackle who played in the National Football League for eight seasons, primarily with the Baltimore Ravens. He is perhaps best known as the subject of Michael Lewis’s bestselling book The Blind Side. He is the founder of the Oher Foundation, a philanthropic organization dedicated to empowering kids to break the cycle of poverty and achieve their dreams through opportunities in education.

Today on the show we discuss: Michael’s story and his thoughts on the movie “The Blind Side,” how he conquered the victim mindset and remained optimistic during adversity, how he avoided temptation as a kid and stayed out of trouble, why cutting ties with bad friends is so important, the biggest lessons Michael has learned from everything he’s overcome and much more.
