Increasing your prices isn’t necessarily bad, but there’s a difference between raising your prices fairly and screwing over your customers for the sake of profit. There are times and places that makes sense for increasing prices, and with some foresight and planning, no one needs to get screwed over. It doesn’t need to be more complicated than that.
