On Monday I shared what I do when I run out of ideas for content, so I thought I could share my creation process when I actually have content I want to make. You never know when inspiration will strike, so I’m always jotting down notes with future ideas and the platforms I want to put them on.

When it comes to creating content, usually momentum beats motivation every single time. The more times you post, the easier it gets to keep posting, and ideas often lead to even more ideas… but sometimes life gets to life-ing, and you run out of ideas on what to post next. If that’s you, or it’s ever been you, I’ve got a few tactics up my sleeve to help you start creating content again.

Feeling guilty about your success happens to all of us. I LOVE my life, but sometimes I feel so guilty that I get to live the way I do while others can’t. But stopping myself from having these good things doesn’t help anyone, doesn’t bring anyone closer to their own goals. Far MOAR good comes from enjoying yourself and using your privilege to inspire others. Caring about it allows you to fight for it, for the people who want it, too.

So, you’ve fallen off the proverbial Instagram Wagon. It’s been a week, or maybe a month, or hell, even a year since you last posted. What the hell do you do now?! I hate to break it to you, but it’s highly likely no one even noticed you were gone. If you’ve fallen off the wagon, just hop back on.

Our words send a message, so it’s damn important to pick them carefully. Are you making a sacrifice? Or are you choosing to give something up in exchange for something better?
If you’re making a choice, you’re taking ownership of your actions. And if what you’re doing really feels like a sacrifice, is it even something you want to be doing at all?

Is your business meeting your needs? And more importantly, how can you tell what needs are (or are not) being met if you don’t have the language to describe them? I’m a huge believer in the idea that your business is built to serve you, so if it isn’t meeting your needs, what can be done to change that? It’s so important to put words to our feelings because having the right words leads to better communication, which leads to finding better solutions, and knowing the solutions means we can take action—and you already know it: action is *always* the answer.

Last week, Jill and I ran our third ever #BossUp event, and we were lucky enough to have the one and only Rachel Strickland as a speaker there, and what she said was so moving, I knew I needed to recast her old episode ASAP. Think of it as a little gift for those of you who wanted to come to #BossUp and couldn’t.
In this episode Rachel and I chatted about our “gremlins,” about impostor syndrome, and about seeking out rejection. I see so many people not creating, due to any number of fears, even when creating is what they want more than anything to do. That’s where Rachel comes in—she’s gonna help you do the damn thing.
Your creativity and desire are right there, all you need is to listen and take action. What is the thing you could never forgive yourself for not doing? Start there. Let that fire carry you, and create now. You can’t afford not to.

As a listener of this podcast, you’re probably a pretty introspective person and spend a lot of time looking inwards, but how much time do you spend thinking about the internal lives of others? The whole point of running a business is connecting with and helping the human beings on the other side of the transaction—how much time are you considering their unique experiences? When we remember the unique people we’re working with, we can allow curiosity to come in to how we run our lives and businesses; and when we lead with curiosity, everyone’s better for it.
