On this week’s podcast, I’m going to answer a question from one of the beautiful members of my Social Method Society: “I sent a gift to an influencer and they didn’t respond at all. What do I do now?”

The law of reciprocity is that they will want to thank you or share it with their audience or do something in return. But when someone doesn’t respond in this way it can make you feel... confused and also let down.

Girlfriend, know that if an influencer did not acknowledge your gift, it could be because of various reasons such as:
- Maybe they never received it.
- Maybe they did receive it and meant to thank you but they forgot.
- Maybe they feel uncomfortable acknowledging the gift because they fear the expectation that they have to give you a shout out or share it but they can’t or don’t want to.

If this ever happens to you, I hope you don’t choose to let how you feel in this situation dictate what your relationship looks like with an influencer beyond this point. 

I also hope that this one experience doesn’t prevent you from ever gifting things to others. 

The world needs more kindness and not less. The world need more random gifts without expectations and gifts that come from a place of love.
