Caitlin knows a lot about talking to women, in fact she’s written two books specifically about it How To Be A Woman and More Than A Woman. But her latest book What About Men looks into how the problems of feminism are also the problems of men.
And on this episode of No Filter she joins Mia to ask the question, is it harder to be a man than a woman in this day and age?
THE END BITS:

If you're struggling with anxiety & depression, reach out to Beyond Blue here.
Anxiety and depression are mental health issues that so many Australians will experience in their life. But for Jessie Stephens, her experiences with mental health issues were almost inevitable.
Jessie’s latest book, Something Bad Is Going to Happen is her most personal project yet. Jessie taps into her own experiences with mental health to create an incredible fictional story that follows the character of Adella, a woman nearing the end of her late twenties who has found herself in a psychiatric unit, recovering from a mental breakdown.
In this conversation, Jessie candidly opens up about her very real and personal battle with anxiety and depression and what happened during pregnancy.

A few weeks ago, Mia inhaled a newsletter titled ‘Is Going Camel Mode Inevitable For Parents.’
Camel mode is a time in your life when you power down to focus on one task, it might be for an aging parent, dealing with a separation or a chronic illness, or in the case of both of our guests today, parenting little kids.
On the show today, Mia explores the concept of camel mode with writer Katheryn Jezer-Morton, and the day-to-day routine of it with a friend of the podcast, Amelia Lester.
And the idea of it will truly change your life.

Emma Gannon had a successful podcast, had written multiple books and a career as a high profile journalist in the UK. She also had a happy personal life, and on paper everything looked great…but she was unhappy. And burnt out. Which is when she realised that no amount of success is worth your health.
Her new book, The Success Myth, Letting Go Of Having It All dives in to why all the things we measure as successful - being rich, famous, even having kids - are, in fact, myths.
This conversation between Mia and Emma will make you question everything you think you know about what success actually means…

In the early 1990s, 21-year-old Paul Denyer terrorised the Victorian suburb of Frankston. He preyed on the local women; stalking, abducting, and eventually murdering three young victims.
Their names were Elizabeth Stevens, Deborah Fream, and Natalie Russell.
David Limbrick was Natalie Russell’s boyfriend at the time. He was just 19 when Natalie was found, and his life was forever changed. David went on to become a member of the Victorian Parliament, representing the suburb of Frankston. So in 2021, when Paul Denyer applied for parole for a 2023 release, David, along with other family members of the victims started a very public campaign. This is his story…

Listen to part two of Mia's interview with Elise, here.
You’d probably recognise Elise Loehnen’s face because, in her role as Chief Content Officer at Goop, she hosted the Goop Lab TV show on Netflix and the Goop podcast alongside the company's founder, Gwyneth Paltrow.
But that fact is probably the least interesting thing about Elise Loehnen. In 2021, Elise walked away from her extremely high-profile job to launch a podcast and write her book. And her book On Our Best Behaviour, has blown our minds. As women, we congratulate ourselves when we resist the donut in the office kitchen. We celebrate our restraint when we hold back from sending an email in anger. We put others' needs ahead of our own and believe this makes us exemplary. But Elise is asking…does it?
This book and this conversation has changed the way Mia see’s the world and the way she sees herself...and we’re excited that it’s going to do the same for you.
THE END BITS:
With thanks to Elise Loehnen.

When Sophie Matterson was 31, she broke up with her long-term boyfriend. Soon afterward, she packed all her belongings into saddlebags and decided to trek from Shark Bay in Western Australia to Byron Bay on the east coast with five camels. For 13 months Sophie crossed deserts, salt lakes, and cattle stations, often without seeing another person. But somehow, along this journey, Sophie found love. She joins Claire Murphy to tell her all about it...

Listen to part two of Lisa and Sarah's story here.
Lisa Messenger always thought she’d be an entrepreneur, not a mother.
But one day, after 15 years of running multiple businesses including publishing company The Messenger Group and later Collective Hub, Lisa decided it was time to try. But what happened next wasn’t easy.
Over 8 years, Lisa had 16 rounds of IVF and spent over $500,000 trying to conceive. She even came close to adopting.
But it wasn’t until her friend Sarah Megginson offered to help that she had a chance.
And now, her baby is due in August…
