  • Male suicide: Inside the support network creating a safe place for men battling mental health demons
    Please note, this week's episode, at times, this can be an uncomfortable listen but it’s important that these brave mens’ stories are heard.
    It’s a souring fact that now suicide is the most common cause of death for men aged 20-49 in England and Wales. 
    The office for National Statistics report that in 2017, 5,821 suicides were recorded in Great Britain. Of these, 75% were male and 25% were female.
    This week, Michael Pearson heads inside the weekly discussion group that's getting men to talk about their mental health.

  • 'We need to break the taboo.' Victim of male rape waives anonymity to share struggle after sex attack
    This week's episode is the deeply compelling story of Callum Carson. A Scottish sports journalist who has waived his right to anonymity in order to help others deal with the trauma of sexual assault.
    He was attacked in the street on Christmas Eve, 2005 – but the next year, a court reached a verdict of not proven.
    A medical expert questioned Callum’s sexuality and said his injuries could have been the result of consensual intercourse.
    Now 13 years on, he's bravely is speaking out to help others deal with the trauma of rape and talk about how he's battles his mental health demons since he originally spoke out in an article in 2014 for the Daily Record.
