IVF is a process that involves creating an embryo in a lab. To help explain the process of creating those embryos, I'm joined today by embryologist, Salu Ribeiro. We're are talking about what happens in the lab, after eggs have been retrieved, what makes a "golden egg," and how fertilization works. We'll explain some of the terms you may hear when you're doing IVF: ICSI (which is Intracytoplasmic sperm injection) and PICSI (which is physiological ICSI, where sperm are first chosen for ICSI).
