We kept reading the name Miranda Kielpinski in recent podium results so we figured we would have her on the show after she ran the Triple-State Spartan Sprint weekend to get to know her a bit and to put a voice to the name!

Miranda talks about how she got into OCR in 2019, dealt with a knee issue, and has come back to a pretty solid start to 2021. The most surprising part is that her athletic background is surfing which isn't usually the first sport that is thought about when it comes to skills carrying over.

Mike finally crossed Goliathon off of his OCR bucket list! As excited as he was to finally run the event, he was also nervous about his lack of training. Katelyn assured him that since it is a local race it will have simple obstacles ... but Mike knew better!

It's a typical OCR until you're staring down one of their many ninja inspired rigs which luckily have 3 lanes of difficulty! Green for beginners or for those that want to play it safe, orange for a solid challenge, and blue if you are looking to push yourself. With only one attempt for your score, you need to choose wisely.

For this episode you'll hear a bit from Jamie Rhan (Captain NBC from American Ninja Warrior), some start line audio, an interview with Dana who is a cofounder of the event, and a few other great people. Lastly is a sleep deprived and heat exhausted recap from Katelyn and Mike. Highly recommend that you watch the obstacles here!

We plan to return and cover the event more in detail next time! Make sure you follow them and support a great race company that is supporting incredible causes!

Zack Wisnowski had posted about how he was attempting his third 100 miler race after the first two had resulted in DNF, we reached out and told him that he had a spot on the show if he finished this one! The race was Infinitus, one of The Endurance Society's ultra events!

Infinitus is an event that will always be important to Mike since it was his first marathon course, he even has a map of the course in the podcasting office! Zack shares his enthusiasm about the event, his side hustle of Atlas Endurance Training, we discuss how he got into ultras, and what he plans to do now that he has finished a 100 miler!

Mud Gauntlet is one of Newbsanity's many great events that they put on every year! Other notable ones are their Extreme Ravine, Commando Cup, Frozen Four Miler, and the new Newbsanity Ultra FIT weekend! Many exciting races but Mud Gauntlet is the more straightforward OCR one. Ryan Brizzolara won the event so we discuss how he got mixed up in the Newbsanity group, he gives a description of the many obstacles on the course, retells how he faced off against incredible athletes like Jashua Ried, Michael Suazo, and Josh Fiore, and how epic the afterparty was!

BattleFrog is remembered for both good and bad by those who ran it when it was around! With the next incarnation of the event planning to resurface and the initial comeback weekend being this weekend, Mike figured that he would have his good friend CJ on the show to talk about running the event back in 2015!

This is a simple episode reminiscing about the old days in OCR and doing commentary on our GoPro event video that Mike made years ago!

We do not go into specifics of the past and future of the event as it wasn't really the goal of this episode. Here are some articles for additional information about the initial launch of Battlefrog, the BattleFrog Fiesta Bowl, and the cancelling of all future events.

BattleFrog X continues to try to continue with their relaunch when Will Hicks interviewed them earlier this year but we aren't optimistic at this time due to Garfield Griffiths returning to be exclusively a Spartan Race director, and the overall lack of communication from BattleFrog X lately. That being said, we would be happy to be proved wrong!
